North Cyprus i'll see you soon

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Piratis » Sat Mar 26, 2005 12:43 pm

I'm sure you understand that THIS IS HOW IT ALL STARTED! Had there been no violence, in the first place, we might still be here talking, just like we are now, but we would have saved ourselves the dead people - much better, imo.

If there had been no violence in the first place then no Turk would exist in Cyprus. So this is not the point.

The point is if we believe that results of violence are acceptable or not. Deejay told us that the Cyprus problem was solved in 74. Therefore this means the results of violence are acceptable to him and he supports such things.

There is no border. There is cease fire line between the free Cyprus and the occupied part.

My signature isn't aimed at Cyprus Piratis, it's a general comment on xenophobic patriotism by Pablo Casals, a Spanish writer... it's been on here more than a year, surprised you choose now to comment on it, particularly when I'm supporting your argument... geez, some people

Cannedmoose, a completely moronic emoticon. My congratulations!

Insan, I didn't get this part. I'm not blaming Americans for where we are now. I used the 9/11 attacks as an example of how violence can't solve much, because it didn't solve anything for the Arab extremists who did it - they're in the shit-hole now.
Of course, the answer to your first question here is a big, resounding YES. But I guess Henry Kissinger and his CIA posse can answer that question more thoroughly than poor old me.

North Cyprus imish!!!

Your aim for partition was crystal clear from the very begining even from the terminology you use!
For us there is only CYPRUS . For you there is North and South Cyprus.
Get lost!

I meant eall capitalist countries have "imperialist" approaches in different degrees and different shapes. Most of the ordinary people living in capitalist countries think that the only "imperialist" country is US. Actually, EU is also imperialist but uses different methods to enlarge itself and when necessary it gives support to US' "imperialistic" military opertaions. Skipping the basic components of an event and focusing only just a small part of it does not make any sense to me. It is obvious that "Invasion" of Iraq has strong relations with usage of nuclear power in middle east, concerns about growing terrorist actions and abuse of nuclear power by terrorists, anti-democratic regimes and huge human rights violations etc... Capitalists are only able to use capitalist methods to resolve the problems. Though ex-communist methods weren't any better than capitalist methods, too.

Thus, US is not any different than EU or any other capitalist country that are in the same alliance and give support to each other including military support;when it suits them. While you want collapse of US but in the mean time embrace EU or any other capitalist country you contradict with yourself like most of the "ordinary" guys of the world. I'm not trying to "sound like a smart-ass"(one of your most favourite phrase) but I just wanted to utter my 2 cents about it, in this context.

OK, how's this, then:
'I might want the US, the EU, and all other capitalist organizations to collapse, too, because of their imperialistic attitude, but that gives me no right to fly planes into buildings packed with innocent civilians or bomb embassies or bomb Madrid!'

The point is that I was only giving an example. I am actually pro-western and do not want the US or the capitalist system to collapse. I feel they are both the lesser evil. But I can certainly understand those who feel hatred towards America (assuming 'hatred' is not too strong a word). And my example was 'even if you do hate America, that doesn't justify acts of terrorism'. If there was a significant anti-EU sentiment the world over (like there exists an anti-american one) or terrorist attacks targeted against the EU and not specific countries, I could well have used the EU as an example, you're right.

(smart-ass! :P )

It's not about having the right to do it. It's about the mentality and terrorist methods. That's what terrorists are able to do in boundaries of their mentality.

This discussion is going wrong and it doesn't have much to do with the thread. I take the example back. (Insan, please don't respond with 'No, you can't take it back, you've said it now!' )

Boy o’ boy re Piratis! Don't even think of it. A bullet in someones head will mean a bullet in your head a few years later. All you have to do is just demonstrate those people they are wrong. Droping on the same level as them, will not make you any better than them, in fact it will make you worse.

PS.I just noticed this frick called DJ....hmmm s/he smells sooo bad, I ‘ll go pack my "ammunition".

Long time to hear from you my friend...
Anyhow from my experience it's kind of impossible to implant logic into VPs brain.
