Once Upon a Time there was an island called Cyprus...

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Yes I did, didnt I. The possibility is that my ancestors could have been from anywhere that I mentioned, but most likely Cypriot with a smuttering of the peoples that I mention. How can one tell, without the DNA profile. We could ask Phoenix, but she might be otherwise occupied (by reading her bed-time books)

Talk about evolution of a thread

I am sure you are a fine Cypriot...

Pheonix has given me permission to answer for her, on another thread, in her absence. She asked me to tell you that she is busy at the moment but she will be back soon and she loves you all very much and also said that she was sorry for being such an ass all this time and she was only joking about the Turks. She said to say that she isn't even Greek but a Turkish movie star trying to get publicity for her new film, the Turkish version of "Shrek" called "Esek". It will simultaneously be released in Isreal under the name "Shmuch".

When I told her that I have traced my fathers side to the Russian Steps she said "Pah! It doesn't matter my brother. We are all one people and we should just all live together in two separate states as good neighbours". Then she left but not before telling me that my grandfather must have been an orangoutang.

Orangutan? But she did say 'we are all one?' I can live with that.

Phoenix mou, its not the 'majority rights' that is the problem, it is 'majority rule' which makes us see red. When the Pillars of Democracy was worded, they had not reckoned how GCs would use it..

Deniz, write to the US government and tell them to modify this paragraph:

These elements define the fundamental elements of all modern democracies, no matter how varied in history, culture, and economy. Despite their enormous differences as nations and societies, the essential elements of constitutional government--majority rule coupled with individual and minority rights, and the rule of law--can be found in Canada and Costa Rica, France and Botswana, Japan and India.

Tell them to add the one exception: "The evil Greek Cypriots"

TCs are not the only minority in Cyprus. Why don't the Armenians, Latins and Maronites have a problem with democracy in Cyprus?

The difference is that they respected the democratic principles including majority rule, and in the same way they got respect for their minority rights.

When was it that you respected the Majority rule right of Cypriots? When you oppressed the whole Cypriot people for 4 centuries, or when you sided with the colonialists to force on us some agreement that deprived Cyprus from this main democratic principle?

So the TCs want the World to change the Chemistry of the Pillars of Democracy just for them

To please the TCs we offer the following transposition:

Majority Rule + Minority Rights -----> Minority Rule + Majority Rights

...... So we are back to Ottoman principles, but for the fact that we know, the Rights of neither Majorities nor Minorities were respected by them.

The rules work for you in the EU but I don't see you handing back that right to equality though you are just 1/60th the size of the UK and smaller in comparison to Germany. If you are prepared to use that same equation in the EU then lets hear you speak up and hand it back

I tell you what VP. Why don't you give me one example in favour of the "TRNC" that does not violate Human Rights and Democratic Rights of all Cypriots in Cyprus, because I can't come up with one, so why don't you show us how smart you are, and just give us ONE and stop asking others to do the impossible.

Firstly you try to clean up your lies (about my repeating what your brother in law said) then I will gladly respond.

Trying to buy some time are you.??

I can see where you would need time for you to answer my question VP.!!

Your childish and immature handicap shines through like a ray of light, you obviously don't know that its impolite and classless to answer a question with a question...try answering before asking and you shall receive your answer...viva la TRNC.

Zan, you forgot that you are wearing Phoenix' frock. You have been her 'mouthpiece'. Make up your mind. Thats the problem of having a 'dual' personality. I think you are better off as a 'single entity'.
