I don't know about anyone else but I thought this was light hearted !

And you can be a decent kind person without going to church every 10 minuites. I think the point that was being made is that they have a reputation of not taking apolite No thank you for an answer.

We, who are of little or no faith (I include myself among them), have just celebrated the festive season, many, (like myself), have passed the time indulging our own hedonistic pleasures totally oblivious to the suffering of those less fortunate than we.
To those who spread what they deem to be "The Message" or "The Good News", we hedonists must fill them with disgust, we should all realize that fact and at least try to present ourselves worthy of our own opinions.
By treating them with such ignorance (actually boasting about it), are we not displaying the fact that they are actually superior to us ?, after all, as far as they are concerned , they are offering us a priceless gift, should we not have the good manners to decline their offer without resorting to base insults ?.

....so..... not quite so unbiased then? Major contradictions all in one post.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE and may we all take absolutely no notice of these 'troublemakers', even if they do look like friendly gorillas.

One person insulting the integrity of another can never be light hearted.
Without the basic tenets of religion (of whatever denomination) it is not possible to be a decent kind person, regardless off the fact that we may or may not attend any sort of holy service.
Decency and kindness are the foundation of all of them. ( unless of course we ARE Devil worshippers).
The enthusiasm of those that spread the word of their beliefs, denies them the ability to be less persistent, they are quite unable to grasp the fact that we are not prepared to listen, or as they see it, accept the gift they are offering us all.

Niki, I must confess that I am completely unable to grasp the point of your comments, where do I display bias ?, I have included myself among those who are without religious convictions.

You protest your own 'hedonistic, no faith, oblivious to the suffering of others' ...etc attitude far too easily for this to be real. Real hedonists do not repent so easily or in such a detailed manner. I count myself among these hedonists and will therefore pass on the 'priceless gift' I am being offered - thanks ever so!
