Flueless Fires

Postby Alassa » Wed Jan 02, 2008 12:46 pm

Hi - Happy New Year to everyone. Hope 2008 is a good one for you all.

Does anyone know any shops in Lim/Pfo or Nicosia that sells flueless fires or gas fires? I'm looking for one of those nice modern ones that fit in the wall not the heavy black metal ones or a brick wood one.

Many thanks
A

if you have a flueless fire make sure you have a air brick fitted as they burn the oxegen in the room and then produce carbon monixide

A brick that lets air in. It has dozens of holes that allow fresh air to enter the building from the outside. In the UK you will not die of carbon monoxide poisoning if you have air bricks but you may die of the cold.

Having lived in a small village across from the Pennine Way Jerry I can really identify with your post.

Whilst it may be fun to watch the walkers negotiate the pennine way in our British summer ( two weeks every august and the three days in July) It soon turns into misery when the wind blows in off the hills :(

it lets in air so that the fire can burn properly without it you will be in serious trouble as the you have no flue on the fire so when its run out of fresh air it will start to pruduce carbon monoxide (bad)
