But from what one reads from the Turkish perspective, they nearly succeeded...

but they did not, but for the TAF jets flyover.

Once they failed to take the Kyrenia pass, they lost their momentum.

The 'extreme' forumers (as opposed to 'being an extremist' are the ones proudly stating their hatred towards everything T or TC and vice versa. If someone supports 'partition', I would not call them extremists, nor anyone who asked for Enosis. These will be differing opinions, How you go about achieving these might determine whether you are an 'extremist. Thats how I see it. I am sure (perhaps not) you will disagree.

Opinions built on what basis? Rational thinking or extremism (in this case being nationalism). Do you really think people like Eric Dayi and Zan have rational opinions!?

What might be rational to them might not be rational to me. Its a matter of point of view.

If by "learning" you mean believing your lies then you are right, I don't want to learn from you or anyone else who does nothing but tell lies.

They are here simply to satisfy their needs because certain other needs are not being met.

You are reflecting your own life here and proving nothing but your silly and very childish stupidity.

Dont get too downhearted - I wouldnt take this website as a census of the general view of peoples. Most sensible people dont even take part in websites such as this one.

Well, at least you have admitted that you only take part in this "website" because you are not one of the sensible people and you expect us to "learn" from you? Jesus!

utu, why are you stirring the pot, aren't you grateful for living in a country that is one of the freest in the world. How far will Canada get glorifying war mongers whether they are the two adversaries in Cyprus, or anywhere else?

pish posh, the truth is 'it' failed in 1963 as 'it' did in 1974 because it did not gain support from the population as a whole, nor did it have popular support becauseit wasdonein secret. If anything, it proves inmany ways that GreekCypriots, if you wish to generalise that way, are peace loving and for tolerance.

It never was a fight against "Greeks" or "Turks", it is still a fight against ignorance, exclusivity, and bad people who exploit fear.

furthermore, the TurkishArmy can claim very little credit for its success in promoting the peace which exists on this island today. It is the people who deserve this credit. Witness the calm which exists in Palestine, in Iraq, or in Turkey itself. No Army can protect itself from the willful hostility of an insurgent force if it exists. And "Greek Cypriots" do not deserve your smears.
