In his New Year message, Papadopoulos said, "We look forward, with faith and optimism, to ensuring peace and safety in our divided country through a truly viable and functional solution to our national problem that will reunite our people and our land."
"We hope that in the year 2008, such a solution will become a reality and a permanent situation for the benefit of the entire people of Cyprus, both Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots," said the president.
If he means it.....And I doubt very much he does.....Is he know going against the likes of Pirtis, GR, Phoenix and Kifeas. After all...He says he is going to work for all the people in Cyprus and not just the GCs as he has done so far......Goes against what all the above have been saying if he is now changing his tune doesn't it??? I for one hope it's true but it is too close to the elections for my liking
Well Zan this is exactly what I was hoping for . . . . Tpap is ready to mobilise the solution... Which as we all know, has nothing to do with permanent partition and everything to do with removing the Turkish troops and restoring the the ethnically cleansed Cypriots in their rightful homes.
Your interpretation has no bearing on what Tpap said in the above quote, nor what he stands for. Dig somewhere else
. . . and my cycle tour around my beloved Kyrenia is back on the cards for 2008
Man o man....The christmas spirit must have been drunk with a brain bypass for a chaser........ Did I say anything about permanent partition here I said that I don't believe that he is interested in working for all the Cypriots and he proved me right when he said in another speech that he thinks that time will seal partition and his hopes are with a Hellenic Cyprus. Playing the part of the Monkey and the organ grinder and dancing to his own tune while the rest of us look on and laugh.....Thats you as well as him.....
Well Zan, there's your contradiction right up there . . . .
As for partition, you know I would never endorse that, so why say Tpap is going for a solution against what I would want?
""We hope that in the year 2008, such a solution will become a reality and a permanent situation for the benefit of the entire people of Cyprus, both Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots," said the president. "
So we are to beware of what he does not say, according to you. He does not mention anywhaere about the removal of Turkish troops. Do I sense that your views are differing from Tpapa. Do I see a parting of ways?
Please remember to give us the dates of your Tour de Chypre, so we can toss our garlands at you. Willyout yellow jersey/T-shirt have a tweety pie or an Arachnid as an emblem?
Glad you survived Hogmanny.
The solution to the Cyprus problem is the removal of the Turkish troops ....
Simple algebra:
Cyprus - Turks = Solution
.... and thank you for coming out to Cyprus to support me with garlands . . . or where you planning to propel them from the UK
Just wait and see.
Algebra has surely changed since my days. No wonder you picked Microbiology, but then you would have needed Algebra for the logical approach.
