What's the deal with the saying "have your cake and eat it too"? I mean are these two different things? How can that be? Doesn't everyone want to eat their cake? I mean who wants to have cake just to look at? Or would you just want to have cake to impress someone? Like, hey look at me, I've got cake. That's absurd. Surely this saying has meaning from some obscure source I am not privy to. I will instead use "wanting your grapes and having them peeled" because that just makes more sense.
