Christmas presents

Postby webbo » Mon Dec 31, 2007 10:13 am

I know there are a lot of people who do not believe in material things especially as Christmas is a very religious time for some, but as Christmas is now over, I just wondered what was the best present you received and why?

Bubbles x 8) - the material but still religious girl at this time of year!!

The best I got this year was a picture my daughter drew for me. It was a house with dogs and 3 persons on it. The people and the dogs were bigger than the house but nonetheless it was priceless. It said Merry Xmaz mommy with a z lol.
The best Xmas gift I got ever, was an engagement ring from my husband.

Hi Grump

Nothing special ~ just the odd bike picked up here and there ~ a I've got older I've ditched the shit off a shovel bikes ( for those not understanding ~ I mean fast) for something more interesting

A 1938 BSA B21 ~~ 90% restored from a box of bits

A 1979 CX500 fully restored to showroom condition ~~ from a couple of boxes of bit's .

A 1971 BSA B175 fully restored again to showroom condition.

A 1970 BSA B25 restored to good ride able condition.

All the above with the exception of the B21 were ridden on a regular (non rainy day) basis.

And believe it or not a piaggio scooter that I bought my son when he was 16 and took of him when he passed his car test and I bought him his first car at 17 ~~ to be honest I think I enjoyed the scooter most for zipping through central london traffic

So there you are nothing to shout about really but they have kept me amused with the restorations and more so resourcing the parts .

Interesting collection…

I’ve eschewed a number of super bikes in favour of a 50bhp 660cc single ‘supermotard’ which is more suited to the village roads…

I bought myself a Yamaha surround 7.1 home cinema

AMAZING - strongly recommended. (best buy 2006-2007)

The wife complains about the loud noise...I just turn it up, so I can't hear her!!!
