GAV--back to the topic, i think what makes a good person is when you don't take advantage of other people, when you are honest and trustworthy, when you make an honest living, and be respectful of others and their opinions.

I don't think that when we do anything good, we need to come on here or anywhere for that matter and talk about it. The point of doing something good is keeping it between yourself and the person you helped. If you brag about it, then it loses its novelty and its isn't something you did out of the goodness of your heart anymore, but something you can use to promote yourself as a good person. A good person would do good and forget about it. Well thats my humble opinion anyway.

I totally agree with GG, I would add, you know a good person when others say he/she is good without you saying it yourself.

Doing good deeds instinctively and not looking for any return is what makes a person a good person, considering others needs above your own, makes you a good person, forgiving others for there mistakes, even if it hurts you is being a good person.

Anyway, this is IMHO.

i agree with stout religion can make u good human being.it teaches u control urself it tells u ur right and duties and at the end u find out others rights and duties as well.equality and justice that makes any human being or society as a whole good or bad and it can only be acheived by following religion.
