The constitution of 1960 could not function properly because Greekcypriot society(inspired by Eoka) were seeking ENOSIS CONTRARY TO WHAT HAVE BEEN SIGNED IN THE AGREEMENT OF ESTABLEMENT of the republic of Cyprus. Imagine UNDER such an environment HOW could the Turksihcypriots accept to COOPERATE with these people who rejected what they have signed in 1960 as a Independent sovereign NATION ?

ENOSIS idea begun in 1955 by the EOKA the extremist Organisations which demanded an immediate withrawal of the British Forces in Cyprus despite all Information of adverse negative consequenses this action could have!. Let me remind you that also countries like Hong Kong were also under British Control but they did not acted with stupidity and fanatism like what EOKA Did. Hong kong got his independence in 1996 and now it is considering one of the main financial serrvices provider in the world.

We already know that you consider Cypriots as slaves that should always be under somebody else, except Greece of course.
For you it would be great if we were under the British, and you don't seem to bother about the Turkish troops and the occupation either.
What bothers you is that Cyprus with 82% Greek population wanted a union with Greece.

Of course this is no surprise, since you are not a Greek Cypriot. Turkish is your own nation and British your good friends that helped you separate this island. Therefore Greeks and Greek Cypriots bother you.

My friend I have presented here events that DID occur in the past and I stated fully all reasons behind! I did not try to manipulate anyone , or present one sided arguments as this is the case with all discussion forums!

Of course I am a greekcypriot and I find it quite funny how still continue to doubt it . You have dedicated one topic just for me! Thank you very much but probably you have not been used to hear the other side of the coin. Its not you that I have to blame but of course these ignorants leaders who never had the political will to give FULL INSIGHTS on the period of 1960-1974.

I made clearly that I wanted Cyprus to be an Independent Sovereign nation with a strong cypriot identity and not a province of another country. So dont accuse me to be a British or a Turk.

I strongly agree with michalis5354 ! I'm sure there won't be any problem after we start living in an independent Cyprus!
