You suggest that anarchy reigned before the ancient texts were introduced, that man was not intelligent enough to introduce ‘rules’ to protect their property and govern their society yet they had learnt how to farm and manage animals? I just can’t see it I’m afraid…

I can concede that in the dark ages it must have been comforting to have an explanation for the wonders that surrounded man. That anybody should believe and follow those texts in the twenty-first century is beyond me I’m afraid…

nikki u should read previous posts on the same topic as i clarified what is hijab"?even if just for arguments we accept this theory that women can get vitamin deficiancy with hijab on what about skin cancer if u expose urself to sun u can have skin cancer so we should stop going into sun.what about breast cancer on rise in west i can give one reason and wouldnt take into consideration anyother factor will it make sense?.if u will judge things with this point of view there will not be any end to this.we have to take things in totality take the into consideration social aspect, and these are just theories not established facts.i suggest u again go back to the previous pages and read explanation about hijab.thnx 4 ur comments and interest.

Yes, you explained quite clearly that if a woman passed by a group of Muslim men and was not wearing one she would be targeted.

Well I sincerely apologise if I have misquoted or misunderstood you…

rajput49 wrote:and there are reasons for wearing hijab i will give just one example hope i will clarify the point.suppose two girls equally beautiful and attractive are passing by one neighborhood where males have majority and they are on the roads.one girl is dressed like an islamic hijab and other one is dressed like her all body features are more or less visible or even dressed normally u decide who has the better chance of being targeted by someone with bad intentions girl in the islamic dress or girl dressing otherwise

No, that looks perfectly clear to me. Wear it or be targeted.

My expectation is that a woman should be able to walk down the street – however dressed – without being 'targeted' by men.

You however seem to believe (based on some ancient text) that a woman has to be covered from head to toe in order to do so?

we all expect same thing dear cyprusgrump but unfortunatly world is not always the way we expect it to be.how we can give guarntee that no women will be targetted by any sick person.these are few statistics of rape cases in the world isnt it bad shouldnt we prevent this why even a single women have to go through such a misrey.
