You're a little sweetheart Tess.

You Quamersland have now reached that point - you haven't "won" a new convert (or any of the arguments raised) and so now you are resorting to "well you will go to hell then" - childish, childish........................

It is actually worse than this. I believe that when he accuses Rawk of "mischief making" he is referring to the offence of "fitna" which is a capital offence under Sharia law. In other words, his threats apply to this world as well as the next one.

Let me elaborate. This paragraph comes from an article about the threats received by an Egyptian who converted to Christianity:

According to government daily Al-Massa’, all imams are unanimous on the need to kill the apostate Hegazi. They say that sharia (not the Koran) must be enforced and it calls for the death penalty. The more moderate say: if the apostate hides his conversion, does not broadcast his decision, then it is not necessary to kill him; he can live. If he lets it be known, then he causes scandal (fitna) and must die.

In other words, extreme Muslims say that the "offence" of converting to Christianity is in itself merits the death sentence. More tolerant members of this faith say that provided the convert keeps quiet about it, he may live.

This is what lies behind Qamersland's argument. You can be a non-Muslim and reject the claims made by this faith as long as you keep quiet about it. Then the principle of "You go your way, and I'll go mine" apply. If, on the other hand, you openly voice your objections, you commit the offence of "fitna" and under Sharia law earn the death sentence. This explains the fatwa against Salman Rushdie. What Qamersland is doing is to issue a coded death threat against Rawk.

Qamersland, when you use the expression "mischief making", do you do this in the sense of the Arabic word "fitna"? If so, are you saying that Rawk deserves to die?

Rawk, have you been worshipping an idol again? You know that you will be going straight into the Lake of Fire in Hell if you continue to engage in idolatry, just like the Romish Catholics do when they worship the Pope of Rome.

Yes I understand what you are saying, and yes it is worrying that there are people like Quamersland around that give Islam a bad name. He started off quite rationally (in my opinion) but then as someone pointed out - no direct questions were actually answered by him (self) but rather copy and paste from the Quoran. Religion to me is private (my comments about my Catholisism are of course - to the rational minded accepted as they were intended - tongue in cheek). As I said, Quamersland, now that he has reverted to threats has lost all credibility in my eyes.

Tess

I have always had a deep interest in the welfare of disabled and disadvantaged children whatever part of the world they live in, regardless of boundaries. In September I attended a fund raising dinner in Lapithos or Lapta to raise money for disadvantaged children and we were introduced.
