THE EXPANDING UNIVERSE

In 1925, American astronomer Edwin Hubble, provided observational evidence that all galaxies are moving away from one another, which implies that the universe is expanding. The expansion of the universe is now an established scientific fact. This is what the Qur’an says regarding the nature of the universe:

“With power and skill did We construct the Firmament: For it is We Who create the vastness of Space.” [Al-Qur’an 51:47]

The Arabic word musioon is correctly translated as ‘expanding it’, and it refers to the creation of the expanding vastness of the universe. One of the greatest astrophysicist Stephen Hawking, in his book, ‘A Brief History of Time’, says, “The discovery that the universe is expanding was one of the great intellectual revolutions of the 20th century.” The Qur’an mentioned the expansion of the universe, before man even learnt to build a telescope!

Some may say that the presence of astronomical facts in the Qur’an is not surprising since the Arabs were advanced in the field of astronomy. They are correct in acknowledging the advancement of the Arabs in the field of astronomy. However they fail to realize that the Qur’an was revealed centuries before the Arabs excelled in astronomy. Moreover many of the scientific facts mentioned above, such as the origin of the universe with a Big Bang, were not known to the Arabs even at the peak of their scientific advancement. The scientific facts mentioned in the Qur’an are therefore not due to the Arabs’ advancement in astronomy. Indeed, the reverse is true: they advanced in astronomy, because astronomy occupies a place in the Qur’an.

I’m surprised that your all-seeing-all-knowing god hasn’t tapped you on the shoulder and told you that you are wasting valuable time posting here. There must be plenty of gullible people that you could be working on instead…

I am not wasting time at all. my duty is to convey message to people whether they are gullible or genius. if i am decieving the people why dont you accept the challege of Quran and produce your prove? so people will understand what is the truth and what is not? write a book which will sound like unbelieveable but people after 1400 years will verify it.

there have not been a single verse of quran proved wrong. there are some critics of Islam who speak out of context and intrept the worng meaning of Quran to melign Islam but as much as they are trying to malign Islam. Islam is spreading more fast.

check from your sources that it is the realty that Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world.

in only USA every day 400 to 500 people are reverting to Islam. will you say americans and europeans are gullible people?

As you say the koran is open to however anyone wishes to interpret it, the koran is so ambiguous I would challenge any two theologians to provide the same definition to most of what is written

I have seen several examples where the koran has been proven to be what it is:-

A book that plagiarised the Bible.
A religion that borrowed/taken evrything that suited its purpose from other cultures.
Creation of man for his own benefit.
Opressor women
Denier of human rights
Supporting sex crimes against women
etc etc etc

What you fail to realise my old fruitcake is that when normal people see what goes on in muslim countries quite naturaly their response is "Up Yours" and quite rightly so.
Who in their right mind would want to give up what a free society has to offer for any country that is muslim goverened.
Do you honestly think that any civilised person would want to go back 2000 years and live in Somalia or Sudan, the region where baying muslim idiots ecouraged by local muslim clerics called for the death of the British schoolteacher over muhamed the teddy bear incident.

If islam is so good why are these people living such squalor, do they go to the nearby oil rich muslim countries for help? no they don't it's the evil decadent west who they take the begging bowl to.
So in escence it is all right to live off the immoral earnings of the decadent west no matter how these earnings are made!

Well Ahmed. True to form eh. Ignore the questions and the answers, cut and paste, cut and paste. The more I can post the righter I am.

Well you are not. You have dragged yourself, and the reputation of your name and your mosque into disgrace.

You have not only failed to proclaim the glory of Mahommed and the Qu'ran, you have suceeded in doing the opposite. You have exposed them to some withering criticism and argument which you have quite evidently lost.

You have probably suceeded in turning more hearts and minds away from Islam with your stupid misinformed rantings on the internet than any any other person could do.

I have shown some of your postings to some of my friends who have that faith. They were distressed and are seeking quidance on this matter and your position at the Limassol Mosque.

Tread carefully Sqamers, you may have deleted your email address but everything you have said is up there on this board for all to see. I think you may be receiving some guidence soon on these matters from some of your faith who are not so enlightened with their faith being put up for debate on a Cyprus website, good luck!

Oh and if you do profess to be a student, try and learn some basic debating skills.
