Hi people,
my family and i are making the move middle of 2008, can anyone fill me in on the national guard requirements/exemptions

depends are you cypriot-or your father is cypriot? Under 26 you have to do 6 months over 26 you have to do 3 months...but i rememebered cypriots from england who did their army service in cyprus when i was a soldier they often left at 1:30 skipped guard duties etc and all in all where given privelleges - all in all nothing to be scared of its an excellent experience-- and i am glad we have it although 26 months was too much---my brother in law is a cypriot born in the Uk,,and he was worrid bout it but i did some research on the subject...that however didnt make things better with his mother,,,,,classic!,,,

If you get the chance to pick where and what to do in the National guard, I suggest joining the Commandos (Green Berets)
