Here in the North, the harbour (Kyrenia) is the best place to go. All the outside seating areas are heated by huge log fires and the firework display is breathtaking over the castle. There are live bands playing in the High Street all night and the place is packed with families and children - a really good happy and friendly place to be!!!

Gav, take my advice and go to the north. In the south, everyone is a TC murderer and nasty people who said 'NO' to the Annan plan and still follow the Akritas plan. They might even but you in a bus and take you away and mass murder you. :)

Gav, most towns are throwing a new years party this year except Paphos. Anna Vissi will be performing in Larnaca if you like to see that. Nicosia will put on a good show with DJs etc., but unless you have some friends to go with, I think you will be bored on your own. I am working that night and have to do two perfomances and have 10 minutes to get from one to the other. If I wasn't working I would gladly welcome you to Paphos. Maybe next year.

My brother and his wife are joinning me for a picnic @ Sydney's Harbour side and watching the fireworks, wher our beautiful bridge lights up ;) :):):) Happy New Year everyone and I hope 2008 brings peace to our land. Lets use the next year as a beginning to bring us together.
