Am I right in thinking that the removal of GCs from the north of Cyprus was ethnic cleansing, while the movement of TCs from the south of Cyprus was a day outing that somehow has gone longer than anyone expected?

Or perhaps Clerides and Denktas were right to call it a population exchange, to save the lives of both GCs and TCs.

Or perhaps it was ethnic cleansing practised by both TCs and GCs.

Thanks rajput49,
few munites ago i got it from cyprus-talk forum.
My daughter is doing documentary about culture of the Maronites in Cyprus for her university final project.
İs there any Maronites that we can get in touch that she can interview with them about their culture .She can also taped them while they are practising their culture. İt is easy for her to talk with people in Kormakitis ( Korucam in Turkish ) She wants to extend it more. At the moment collecting some information from the net and books . some one has tald her about above book.

ones more again thanks.

Halil, oposite the Post Office in Girne there is a Maronite solicitor (not ethnically cleansed) I will look out for the details, I forgot his name.
