My Greek Family

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

My Greek Family

Postby Sophia1 » Wed Dec 26, 2007 11:14 pm

I love my Greek family so much!! but why is it they always have to mone about other people, compare and also shout when they speak?

I just left from my cousins house along with a terrible headache.. The funny thing was the conversation we had regarding AMADIA and saying the prayer to take them away, that was funny.

Without insulting any one because I feel this is only my family, is there any one else out there who do not like family get togethers??

Because we are Cypriots my dear.

You can choose your friends but not your family. You are stuck with them. Obviously your life in Brixton has culturally influenced you in a non-Cypriot way. You WILL get used to it. That is what makes strong family ties.

You are probably right but I feel when I move away I will not see them as much, I know it sounds cruel but the way I am feeling now is very angry! They are also very 2 faced, wasn't I/we bought up to not tell lies? and then when you are honest the whole army is against you.. Even the ones that have been in the family for like 5 minutes.

I just ended up leaving and taking the bus back home.
