Did you have a good Christmas day?

Postby webbo » Wed Dec 26, 2007 10:02 am

Just read poor Bill's post about his terrible Christmas day with his niece and just wondered if the rest of us had a good or bad day??!

We had a good day!

I had a very good Christmas, my parents came over from the UK with a Nintendo Wii, I played Wii Sports all day long. My back hurts and my arms but I still had a very good Christmas. It's really fun console, I never thought it was this much fun. But ye...... I had a v.good Christmas.

Well I succeeded in juggling the millions of dishes everyone expects to ladle on their heaving plates, all cooked miraculously to acceptable perfection.

But I spent so long with visitors (not of choosing but for "kindness") and food preparations (and only a few minutes on the forum  ) that I barely saw my son . . . who also was left playing his new games on the Wii with his dad.

I think Christmas is all wrong. I hate it, even when everything supposedly goes according to plan. It's dispiriting and a deranged way of spending even a day.

I stayed off the cider and just had a few glasses of wine instead. Having a few friends around this afternoon so likely to indulge in a few ciders then. Have to say that I am getting to quite like 'Magners' too, pity it is so expensive!! :x

Went to my sisters for a big family do. Was actually very nice. Good food.....very good food, desserts......to many of them:( and a few games of cards (Kounka, poker (5 card stud), a few vids, music....it was enjoyable. No arguments from anyone no nothing. Just a very nice day for everyone :)

I know what you mean Bubbles , I paid £1.48 per bottle in the off sales the other day yet had to pay £3.19 in my local on christmas eve .
Never mind though , the wife is working today and there is loads of football on so it looks like the pub for another charge :) .
Don`t think she will mind as I had Christmas dinner ready for her when she got home from work yesterday (and I usually struggle to heat a sausage roll) :D
