What with rip-off psychics and turtles at the mercy of developers, and Turks living in ethnically cleansed villages

Yeah, when you were running it we had a "civil war" and ended up dividing the country, good work captain

Let me see :? . . . who is the common factor in the scenarios of malfunctioning countries? . . . oh yeah!. . . . the Turk-TCs

What countries are you on about Phoenix?

You are pretty ignorant for a scientist you know, i would have never thought that it could be possible :?

Any info. about these villages?I think I went to the first one many years ago but the people in Limnitis told me that there are several small villages up in the hills nearby which are unihabited as they are very near the buffer zone so the military use them as outposts?Do you know anything about visiting Erenkoy other than that it is a military enclave with no access other than by boat and Turkish Cypriots can only visit it on the 8th of August for the memorial service? There has been talk of it being opened for transit by people from Pakhyammos to Kato Pyrgos but so far the military have refused......

I agree cymart it is a really nice little village...my gran lives down the road from that church...not sure about the road you're talking about but they are in the process of making a road which leads to a huge secluded beach from Boltasli. I used to take donkey rides to that beach with my gran when I was little  ... it's just a dirt road at the moment but the scenery leading up to the beach is just incredible. I love the whole area so much and I think it'll be an amazing place 10-20 years from now...

T_C,

I would have said you saw a Satellite orbiting the Earth around 200 miles up at a speed of 17,500 miles per hour. They can go from Horizon to Horizon in just a matter of minutes. The only thing you are seeing, is a "white light" which is the reflection from the sun on the Satellite from the other side of the Earth. If you are in a very dark place and the sky is clear, you can see them all the time, specially at sea, which I was able to see many.

The change of direction of this "UFO" is the only thing that does not fit being a Satellite however, so how much had you drunk that night and were you able to walk and see straight.

There is so much literature concerning reports of U.F.O's and related subjects to dismiss them so easily and what they might be and where from is still wide open to question..........
The road I mentioned runs left up the hill from the centre of Derince if you are coming from Boltasli and is sign-posted towards Adacay,Sipahi and Yeni Erenkoy. It runs through the Kafkala forest which is next to Yesilkoy, another lovely village which I know very well as my father-in-law comes from there originally.Nice food at Kadis tower restaurant on the main road too!We also had lots of land in a place called Elysis between Ayios Symeon and Kuruova, some of which is now being farmed by Turkish Cypriots.I think the beach you mentioned is after Taslica and I went down there in summer 2006 as the road is o.k. for a saloon car.You can park just behind the sand-dunes and it looked as if someone was starting to build a house or cafe just above there on the corner.
