Merry Cypriot bloody Xmas ~~ not

Postby Bill » Tue Dec 25, 2007 9:12 pm

Well after getting around a dozen invitations for Christmas dinner from various parts of the family we finally accepted the invitation from my niece whose husband has just left her for the second time .

It seemed the best bet because which ever of the other family we went to every one of the others would complain and get upset.

It was a get out of trouble card and the rest of the family understood as shes my favourite niece and alone at Xmas ~ ideal solution .

Except I have never ever experienced such a dysfunctional family in my whole life ~~ it's been my worst ever Christmas and narrowly avoiding hospital treatment on a couple of occasions ~~ a nightmare.

Not to be repeated next year though as I've already decided to have Christmas in Prague and balls to the relatives.

Bill ~~ had my pills and a lie down and now slowly returning to sanity

Aw Bill, sorry you had such a rotten Christmas. I don't blame you getting away next year.

I guess I'm lucky, my family is in the UK while I'm here! :D

I have to do Christmas dinner tomorrow for friends but that's a good thing.

You can pick your friends Niki but sadly not your relatives .

It's my first christmas in Cyprus ~~ what a eye opener ~~ never again .

To say this family are dysfunctional is being kind to them really.

Bill, is like the Christmasess I remember from years ago when everone screamed and shouted at each other and argued about what to watch on telly (I tried to ban it one Xmas by moving it to a room without any heating - it did not work). Sadly we don't have Christmas with that part of the family now, :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I had the best Christmas this year, parents in Cyprus brother interstate, I got up went to church prayed for world peace and good health for everyone, came home walked my dog, had breaky. watched scrooge on telie. Marinated my tuna spoke to a cuple of friends who live interstate and discussed the essence of Christmas. Went for a walk around the block came back cooked lunch, ate, took a nap, walked the dog again, afterall Christmas is also for dogs, played on the computer for a bit, hooked up with a buddy for some adult themed fun and wella, I had a great Christmas.

Now all i have to do is buy my parents a ticket to cyprus for Christmas every year and am set. :):):)

Bill darling, sorry to hear that you had such a terrible Christmas. Reminded me of all the horrible ones we used to experience! We just had a quiet family day :) - eating, drinking and slobbing out in front of the tv - we are having some friends around this afternoon, so looking forward to that. Good luck for a better one next year!!
