For the first time ever I did not cook Christmas dinner. We went to the Amathus Beach Hotel with friends and it was a really miserable for me. I thought I would enjoy it but I am afraid it was a no no. The food was ok except that the Turkey was rolled and not presented in a way I recognised. I do not equate Chicken chow mein or spring rolls with Christmas either. It just seemed all wrong somehow.

Has anyone been to a good hotel/restaurant Christmas dinner in Limassol anywhere? Just for future reference! 8)

Did you burn it this year then?

Good heavens no!!!! It was perfect! :D

Well...... when I say perfect.....the turkey was a little overdone, the sprouts had been cooking since April but I thought they needed more time and the flaming of the pudding was rather like a firestorm! Too much brandy! :D

Just as a matter of interest, how long did it take for the fire brigade to turn up?

Ah... hence the dark glasses... they'll grow back in time.

Its just that I am used to lots of family and noise and youngsters playing monopoly and cluedo and arguing and my brothers and their wives all mucking in with the dinner and my 83 year old father and 91 year old mother in law snoozing in the corner after eating enough to sink a battle ship.
Next year I will just cook at home for us though I haven't yet worked out how much Turkey to buy for three people!! I could put a saddle and ride home the last Turkey I bought and we were eating it for ages!!! Or maybe I will travel back to spend Christmas in the UK. We will have to see :-)

That sounds like my kind of meal :) do not like turkey at all!!

Already fed up with curry too, and that is only after 3 attempts at eating it!! Will be cooking something totally different tomorrow that is for sure!!
