Old Mentalities Have Not Changed

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Piratis » Fri Mar 25, 2005 1:05 am

We had got the top 38% of the Cyprus, and we are not negotiating with you guys. We rather live under Turkey's protectorate than be with somebody like you as co-citizens. When your power is string enough militarily you can come and try to get the whole Cyprus back.

In the meantime shut your pie-hole and thank god that we did not get the whole Cyprus in 1974.

You think you said something new? This is the message that you send to us for 30 years now.

If somebody is nationalistic and radical

And what according to you of what I said is nationalistic or radical?
That GCs are an integral part of Cyprus for 3500 years?

I reckon he meant your threat towards Turkish Cypriots to leave the island, if they do not want to live with G.Cs.

Deejay,

TCs do not own any specific part of Cyprus. Partition is not an option for you (except if we agree to it).

Therefore if you can't live with GCs then you can't live in Cyprus either. GCs are an integral part of Cyprus (the whole Cyprus) for 3500 years. You either have to get used to live with us, or move out of Cyprus if you can't.

Ok Piratis, it seems that we cannot be on the same wavelength to begin discussing a formal solution. Yet this is my whole argument.

FORMAL SOLUTION FOR GREEKS = One Cyprus with Greek Government in control and Turkish Cypriots as minority. All displaced people except Turkish Cypriots go back to their homes.

FORMAL SOLUTION FOR TURKISH = Bi zonal Cyprus with 2 states. Sth is Greek and the North is Turkish.

We are both talking the wrong language for a formal solution...not peace...peace came in 1974..we will never hit the same note.

I don't understand why we don't just go our own ways and maybe talk 50 years later...thats if we still want a formal solution then.

Ok. So the "non-radical", "non-nationalistic" way to see this according to you is that if TCs don't want to live with GCs, that GCs should be ethnically cleansed from a part of Cyprus. Ok.

Piratis, It was not ethnic cleansing. I'll tell you what ethnic cleansing is -

1) Allowing Terrorists (EOKA) to kill innocent Turkish Cypriots & Greek Cypriots during the night by raiding homes and killing children in the bathtub because their father is a Turkish Major.

2) Pre 1960's - Giving Turkish Cypriots visas in the space of one day so they can jump onto ships at the Limasol docks and leave Cyprus. If you come to Australia and see the amount of Turkish Cypriots that came to Australia pre 1960 it is actually more than the amount that came here after 1974.

The Turkish army came to Cyprus thanks to a Turkish speaking Greek Cypriot. Don't forget that. This is quoted from Hristofyas himself...I will attempt to get this out into the open soon.

Ok, so murders against Turks are ethnic cleansing, but killing 6000 GCs and forcing 200.000 to flee their homes and become refugees is not. Ok...

You have mixed up the terminology and the kinds of different crimes. Nobody said that murders of TCs and GCs during the intercomunal conflict were things less criminal. But ethnic cleansing is something else. It is what you did.

Piratis, ethnic cleansing was also done by Greek Cypriots to the Turks before 74. My parents and their families were all forced to leave their homes, long BEFORE 1974.

Mihali will support Greece in the World Cup Football, while Ahmet will support Turkey!!

Actually Mihali can support Greece and/or Cyprus. He can aslo go to a champions league game in his home country if he likes.

Ahmet can support Turkey.
