TVs again

Postby Hazza » Mon Dec 24, 2007 11:46 am

Ok, I'm kinda giving up on my TV. Its a widescreen Toshiba, but too many things are wrong with it, so will be looking at another. My budget isn't that great, I guess around £600-£700max for a new TV.

I'm not looking for anything too big, just want a very good and sharp picture and good sound, nothing else. Not bothered about any other fancy features to be honest. Again, don't mind if its a bog standard widescreen, an LCD or a Plasma, just want a good picture on it, and a TV that will last for a good few years.

I guess I'm looking for a 32" TV which isn't too big nor too small.

If anyone has any suggestions on makes/models and good shops to get one from, it would be appreciated.

I sympathise with your problem. I feel the best solution would probably be a plasma TV. It is known that the best make for plasma television is Pioneer. Your budget is good so you can probably get a plasma screen at those inches. With regards to the sound quality, flat-screen television are renowned for the terrible in-built speaker. My advice would be to purchase a set of surround speakers to go with the television.

Hopefully this helps. Does anybody have any web links to electrical stores in Cyprus that sell television sets?

If you are not really bothered in getting the latest technology there are some great bargains to be had for some of the tubed tv's.

Everybody is going for LCD or plasma and the ordinary tubed tv's have hit rock bottom prices .

I was going to buy myself a LCD jobby after xmas and have looked at the prices ~ well under £500 for most of them ( Quality makes too ) tubed tv's are much much lower ~~ and they should be cheaper in the January sales.

Have a look at the various better suppliers ~ such as electroline / scandia etc ~~~ you could be pleasantly surprised.

For £600-£700 you can easily buy a good 32" LCD and you may be even able to find some decent 42" Plasma on offer at that price.
