What If There Was Partition.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

What If There Was Partition.

Postby kafenes » Mon Dec 24, 2007 1:56 am

Let's just say, for some reason, the ROC was forced to accept a legal partition. What would the conditions be?
Would there be two separate countries.
Would there a be a border and visas needed to cross to the other side?
Would the TCs have a different passport?
Would the TCs cease to have any benefits from the ROC?
Would they loose all the land they own in the ROC?
Would they be part of EU and travel freely to the the ROC and live and work there?
Would the ROC citizens be free to go to the north and live and work there like any European?
Would all rightful owners of properties be able to sell freely there property to anyone?

Can someone shed some light?

Would there be two separate countries. No the same the RoC and Turkey
Would there a be a border and visas needed to cross to the other side?Yes same as it is now between turkey and the RoC
Would the TCs have a different passport?the same as in Turkey
Would the TCs cease to have any benefits from the ROC?momma turkey will probably won't tread them as the chosen ones...in the same pot as everyone else...they would not get money on a platter...they would have to earn their keep
Would they loose all the land they own in the ROC?No because they are hoping to move to the RoC and they will demand the 1960 agreement
Would they be part of EU and travel freely to the the ROC and live and work there? No, but they will be able to move to turkey freely
Would the ROC citizens be free to go to the north and live and work there like any European? No because the nth will be turkey and they won't be able to move to the nth freely...why would they want to live in a backwards turkish state?
Would all rightful owners of properties be able to sell freely there property to anyone? There will not be a property issue

Can someone shed some light?

End of the day they will move to the RoC demanding the 1960 agreements coz what scares the living daylights out of every TC is becoming annexed...The last poll in the nth showed 40% do not want a 2 state solution...That means the 40% know whats waiting for them...The 60% included the settler vote...

What percentage of the annexed North are actualy Turkish Cypriot compared to Mainland Turks?.

Quite frankly with what is going on in Turkey and other Muslim countries (see Pakistan today) the South will only be a safe place to live whilst there is partition.

If Muslims ever return to the South in large numbers it won't be long before suicide bombs start to go off because you can be sure that the usual scumbag extremists will follow.

Pardon my ignorance people, were the Muslims living in the South before? Large numbers of them? If so, when was that?

Is the Partition just a wishful thought/idea or can it happens for real?

I have been invited to visit Cyprus and live there hence my interest in knowing more about this Island.

Tks

There are only two things that can possibly force the RoC to accept legal partition! The first is if the Anglo-American ass-lickers of Turkey exterminate us to the last one with atomic /nuclear weapons! The second is if we make the mistake to elect a spineless president of the RoC! I would like to believe and hope that the first has a slightly more probability than the second!

Southerner! You are probably new in Cyprus, and I would like to explain a few things to you!

1. The "Moslems" you refer to that may possibly return to the south, are not real Moslems, but the Turkish Cypriot RoC citizens! The TCs are not fanatic Moslems, nor they are characterized for suicide bombing attacks! If you want to subscribe them to a "religion," you may regard most of them as Kemalsits -for Ataturkism has become a religion for them already, but definitely not Moslems in the strict sense of the term!

2. It is their right to practice their "religion" -Ataturkism or kemalism, but they have absolutely no shit of right to institutionally want and aim to impose their "religion" or any of their other cultural characteristics on any of their GC compatriots!

Southerner , you do have some genuine concerns as to what may happen if the TCs in the North were allowed to live in a united Cyprus . The majority of GCs . especially the more fanatical and racist , have not given much thought to the cultural virus that these TCs would spread amongst the Hellenic community in a united Cyprus.
