Ephry,
You said that Turkish people that were born in Cyprus have assimilated themselves in order not to be isolated. I can't see how they can be isolated if they are the majority. Usually are the small minorities that get assimilated, and not the other way around. In Cyprus except from T/C and G/C we have some other very small minorities like Armenians and Maronites. These communities, although very small, and although they've been in Cyprus for centuries, they still keep many of their own characteristics.
I accept that we should see settlers in a humanitarian way since they are also victims of the strategies of the Turkish generals. But I believe that those people do change the demographics of Cyprus and not all of them can stay in case of a solution. For example, how many of them do you think they would choose to live if an amount of 25,000 or 30,000 dollars is offered to them in case they agree to live?
One more think. You called this issue as an "internal affair". Therefore I would like to ask you: Do you accept federation as the solution? (federation is one thing, confederation is another)
