On our day of release, my grandmother and me were taken to family member's house in Nicosia. The same family that had their house burnt down in Büyük Kaymakli that I talked about.

You may well have interviewed my mother. I have asked you before if you still had your notes from that day, but I believe you said that you did not.........too bad really. I do not remember kids being separated from their parents during the "welcoming period" upon our return. It may have been, but I do not have any recollection of it.

Had I known then, what I know now I would have kept contemporary notes. I was eighteen, and too young to appreciate these things. We were in too much fear then(real or imaginary?). The violence was never-ending.

I was wondering, Deniz. Did you by any chance attend to the mass circumcision, as an observer, that was performed on the kids who were taken as prisoners, as I described in the story.?

Sorry No. I did not attend. I was probably digging trenches behing Ledra Palace Hotel, when not otherwise occupied.

I think you have been "digging trenches" on the Cyprus Forum for a while too, Deniz.!

I'd like to think that I do not need to dig trenches anymore. I feel safe now - but 1963 was different. Perhaps I am filling the trenches in.

I can think of few people from the forum that you would like to have in the trenches before filling them in.!

I'm sure you have a list and you being an "equal opportunity" kind of a guy, I'm sure you have a litle bit of both.!

I have just read this report. I have to say Kikapu, you do enjoy your food! Did you gain weight perchance?

I do enjoy good food, no mater how basic it is, as long as it taste good.!

I do gain couple of Kilos when ever I'm on a holiday.!

I think we will gain a few kilos over this Christmas period judging by what we ate and drank yesterday - and lots of leftovers for today!
