TODAY in 1963:

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby halil » Fri Dec 21, 2007 10:22 pm

dream again in 1963-1964 Turkish planes didn't bombed the Kyrenia .
I will not write tonight what happened in 63 and 64 .
Let us give a thought to all who have lost their lives their homes and country. May we never see such times again.

Lets have peace.

Halil . . . in your haste to condemn me, you did not even read what I wrote correctly.

I said we were bombed in the Polis area.

Then we spent months under canvas in Kyrenia to get away from the Turkish bombardments.

We spent months under canvas in Kyrenia to get away from the Turkish bombardments and nearly 200 local people were napalmed to an unimaginably horrendous death.
From above writing I understood nearly 200 local people were napalmed to an unimaginably horrendous death. İf i am wrong . İ am sorry .
As i said I am not going to write about 63 . Don't try to force me . I will not come to your game . Today is Bayram.

Phoenix, the Turkish airforce bombed Tylliria/Kokkina for two days, that is the 8th and 9th of August 1964. What in heaven were you doing under canvas in Kyrenia for months afterwards? You are not hiding still, are you?

Yes, nearly 200 locals (Polis area) were napalmed whilst we were under canvas in Kyrenia (we were the lucky ones).

Of course there is a reason why the Turks did not bomb Kyrenia in 1963. They are enjoying it greatly now.

As for peace . . . it is a bit late now that Turkey has brought war and 40,000 soldiers to the island.

But for now . . . enjoy your BAYRAM.

(P.S. I did not want to start an exchange, but again you misquoted me and I was forced to correct it.)

Hallo Phoenix mou, you found me, or should I say I found you. Dont you know that according to Dinos, 'moaning' and 'bitching' isnt allowed.

As I have been saying in previous posts we as a whole have suffered. Some more than others. Thats the luck f the draw unfortunately. I see this date as the beginning of the uprooting of many of us TC and GCs. It does bring back poignant memories. Lets not repeat them. We have to learn. As human beings we are capable of that.

This is a Cyprus issue Dinos. If you are worried what the non-Cypriots are laughing about, that is your problem. The Cyprus Forum is here for Cypriots of all colours as well. They might well be laughing at you. Be happy for them.

no shit sherlock! tell me where does it get you in life to keep moaning about what happened 40 50 years ago? what are you willing to do about the cy problem? nothing thats what all you wanna do is just bitch about it, what do you think your gonna change by moaning ? nothing all you are all doing is keeping the hate alive and hurting yourselves! if thats what you want fine carry on, i personally would rather laugh and joke, and i couldnt give a shit about who laughs at me! fuck them all! i say if people cant laugh and joke about themselves and eachother then we are no better than animals

Dinos. One thing I do not have in me is HATE. Why didnt you listen to Lazarous Mavros like Bananiot did. Apparently he is the HATE spreader of Tpapa. Lets see you attack him then.

The way I see it, hate is spread through the island...Why not take a lesson from the 4 Cypriot mates that died in Melbourne together in a tragic car accident...

If these kids were mates, its proof that we can coexist...Some times the young can teach the old farts, us, a thing or two...

May they rest in peace...and may the lot of us learn that life is too short...

The intense bombing was over a few days at Kokkina. But there were bombardments over the Polis area for months from approx. December 1963 until the August of 1964.

I will check on precise details with my mum this weekend and fill you in.

And you are mocking with the benefit of hindsight and retrospect . . . how does one know precisely when the bombings will end when one is in the midst of war?

But I am getting a good working model of how you think, thanks Bananiot.
