Mate how is everything in NZ...I just heard on the news about the earthquake...

I hope the damage was limited and no loss of life...

Boomerang,the earthquake was centred 50 km off Gisborne,so I never felt it at all.You probably get earthquakes over there in Aussie.

Aidan, jokes aside, my post was out of concern, and for you to tell us about it...It wasn't just about you...even though I am happy you are ok...

And no I never felt an earthquake in Melbourne...We had a slight tremour 30 years ago, but most people didn't even notice it...

Guys this is a serious thread...there has been a 6.8 earthquake on the Nth Island...and a state of emergency declared

Kafenes,earthquakes are natural events that occur quite frequently in New Zealand,but very seldom does a killer earthquake occur.

This link shows all earthquakes over the last 7 days - theres a lot of 'em about....................
The NZ one was 6.6 - the biggest in the last few days!!

I have never experienced an Earthquake, I cannot imagine what they are like! My sisterinlaw lives in upper Paphos and they had a pretty big one several years ago. She said it was very scary and NOISY.
