oh bubbles, shame on you! you have read the article from an english gutter press point of view! before you spout your " he is only getting 15 years cos he is english routine" think about what was going through the poor innocent victims mind while he was being hunted down like an animal and murdered! in cyprus murder is still rare and should be punishable by death! after all we dont want cyprus to end up like england do we where life is cheap? why did these animals hunt down and kill an innocent boy? if they had been assaulted in a club why didnt they have the balls to go back to the club and sort out those who assaulted them? i will tell you why, cos as per usuall the english probably got drunk acted like idiots untill some cypriot kicked their arse, they didnt have the bottle to sort it out and so they took it out on a complete stranger! my uncle runs the biggest security company on the island, and my cousin is the most respected bouncer in ayia napa and i have also worked as security there so i see how the english behave with a drink inside them! so please dont condone the action of mindless animals! the english have to learn to behave in cyprus! cos now we have learned to fight back! this aint the fifties anymore where the english done whatever they wanted on the island!

How can you say that when the Mail is also running the story! I am not 'spouting' as you put it, and it would not matter if this man was English, Greek or from Mars, justice has to be seen to be done. That is the only point I was trying to convey!!

Bubbles x 8)

bubbles just please keep something in mind when reading the daily rags,"paper never refused ink" the daily mail is known for sensationalizing non-stories!

and just to clarify 1 other point, i`m not saying that the culprit should be punished more severely cos he`s english, i would feel the same whatever race he was, in fact weve come to expect loutish, beer fuelled, brits abroad behaviour! i would be more shocked and apaulled had the murderer been a cypriot

Dino, I think I will keep my 'copy and paste' to trivial matters in the future as I have upset too many people today.

just dont be so naive when it comes to paper talk! interestingly enough the "english" forum that i post on regularly are always commenting on how the daily rags in britain seem to sensationalise non-stories, often with sarcastic north-east comments like "lets not let the facts get in the way of a good story" these papers seem to feed off people who believe the hype and often we see knee-jerk reactions to such stories! but most of the mackem folk seem to see through the charade and common sense normally prevails

A person from Sunderland around the river Wear. They pronouce words such as make and take as mack and tack, hence 'Mackems and 'Tackems' abbreviated to just 'Mackems'

also wasnt it a term from the old shipbuilding days when sunderland folk used to build ships and launch them from the river wear straight into the north sea, hence they used to make `em, or mackem! and then the customers would take delivery of them or tak`em!

but my favourite one has to be the mackem for who`s keys are these keys? or "whees kees are theeese keees?"

Cheers Dino,
Have been a bit disposed over the weekend hence the late reply!
Will give it a go after the hols.

When I first said 'hoy' here in a Limassol pub, the Cypriots thought I knew Cypriot slang and was saying 'Oy' as opposed to 'Oxi'. It was funny, but I suppose you had to be there!! :P
