Something we should all worry about!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Jerry » Mon Dec 24, 2007 12:10 am

I'm sorry Copperline but your post is not up to your usual standard. It's clear to me that the people Nikitas is referring to are immigrants from Turkey and they occupy the home of a Greek Cypriot (Cymart's post). We both know that what Turkey did in re-populating GC property with settlers from the mainland is illegal and those people have no right to be there. Your questions are irrelevant, why ask them?

Nikitas wrote:It is not up to them to decide. Their move to Cyprus and occupation of your home is all part of an international crime banned by the UN charter and all conventions on human rights. Their only hope of legalisation is a political settlement. How much does it take for you to understand this Cymart?

Whichever way you slice it, with or without recognition of the north, with or without the EU, the property rights of the individuals who lawfully own the land cannot be extinguished. That is the reason the TRNC does not accept full entry into the EU, because it would have to apply EU laws and that will mean restitution of properties.

People here have made much of the Kosovo situation and its similarities to Cyprus. Well, they should look again at the guarantees the proposals for Kossovo for land rights and ownership. And the parallel efforts made by the Kossovars to guarantee properties of the non Albanians.

I wonder why so many MEP's are saying hat it was a mistake to let you in in the first place

So by moving them out and moving in the TCs all is well is it

The property issue is something that is paling into insignificance the more tricks your leader plays on the EU and the UN......This is not just a legal issue and the morals are lacking north f the border

Because there is no solution

Postby cymart » Mon Dec 24, 2007 10:17 am

This has been largely responsible for the enormous increase in the price of land on this side of the island, which has shot-up since 2004.....Although most of them won't admit it openly, people who are in real estates and land development are more than happy with the status quo....If you are a refugee and cannot afford to buy even an appartment at todays prices, well that's tough-after all it's all the Turks fault and not the developers isn't it???
Such issues, like those of cabarets and corruption which are embarassing to the establishment are rarely openly debated or discussed on t.v. etc. because they are political dynamite!A good example is Irini Charalambidou whose programme on CYBC channel 1 is very popular-she is a very skilful journalist and commentator who is not afraid to speak the truth, regardless of who is to blame! She has just published a book, yet the programme director of the station forbade her to promote it on the air, allegedly because it is 'outside the terms of her contract!' but everyone knows he had orders from the Presidential Palace as the book deals with some issues which are very uncomfortable for the government such as the Helios Airways crash and the recent foot and mouth disease fiasco etc!No doubt the fact that Christophias attended the presentation was a red-flag in more ways than one!!!

Well halle Fucking lujah, well said boomers.

This prat, is not only living here he sees it his duty to put down the current government, cos they won't agree to give HIM HIS wifes land back in famagusta. Thats his beef. He doesn't give jack s... about Cyprus, afterall, he openly admitted he will sell up and bugger off back to his own corrupt nation.

Well, why wait cymart, go now and leave us in peace to sort out our own shit. Cyprus doesn't need pricks like you, because it was your sort that screwed us in the first place.

Oh, and by the way, take you wife and father-in-law with you, as we don't want any germs remaining to infect us.

Bon voyage re koumbare!
