I didnt, the reason i never bought plasma is due to power consumption :)

I have done a lot of homework before I purchased my LCD Sony Bravia 40".

I chose it because it uses much less power and much lighter in weight.
If money is no object, Plasma will give you the sharper images. I am very happy with my football viewing (Arsenal supporter). Because I also have HD Sky, it is near perfect.

Money no object = Plasma

Good luck Kafenes

I have also done a lot of homework before buying my TV...I read a lot of comparisons & reviews on the net...
And even went to a Home Entertainment exhibition in Strovolos/Nicosia where all the brands were being displayed under ideal conditions...I had the chence to compare all of them...eventually i decided that Pioneer plasma was the best for my use.

I also have SKY HD...Pioneer has much better colours & sharper picture..

Kafenes..
Go for a Pioneer, you wont regret it..

I have a 38' Thomson tube TV weighing at 100 kg. As soon as it kicks the bucket I will also go for the plasma pioneer

When I was in the same dilemma 2 years ago between a plasma or an LCD I ended up buying a projector  But at that time I've seen 10s of LCD and Plasmas and I liked the Plasma better. BUT today the prices of LCD came down. I saw an ad of Stephanides some days ago advertising some Sharp AQUOS FULL HD at very good prices. I think the most expensive one at 52" was 1600 pounds or something and the ones at 40-45" were around a 1000. If you will watch just regular TV channels then go for Plasma. If you are planing to watch HDTV, HD DVD or Blu-ray or if you want to connect your computer on it then maybe you should have a look at the full HD LCDs also. I am guessing that when you have a digital source at 1920x1200 (full HD) and you have a screen that has native support for that resolution it should look better.

Thanks Iceman. I am a sucker for Sony. The style was good too. Funny enough I dont remember seeing any Pioneer stuff. I know their ausio goods are good.

I agree with iceman. When I was looking the Pioneer and the Panasonic viera were the best and most recommended.

John Lewis in London also recommended Panasonic over Sony.

As DINOS pointed out in his first reply,if you have 1k to spend you get a Vierra if you have over 2k to spend you get a Pioneer....At the end of the day you get what you pay for...
In my opinion,Pioneer's Pure Vision technology ensures best colours.
Pioneer plasma delivers true black colour using Pure Vision.
