Missed that part, sorry... Translation, anyone?

After 74 war, the Turkish Cypriot administration had given certain amount of `points` to the Turkish Cypriots in exchange to the properties they left in South, and also as a reward for the people who fought during the war and the people who lost their relatives etc. People who got certain amount of points could buy house and building lands. In short, these points were used as money to buy properties.

OK, so if 'puan' is 'points', then 'mucahit' and 'matryred' mean what?

Thanks!

There are plenty of TC in the north that did not get any GC land if that is what you are asking.

I know. It is true but we don't know who they are.

puan: point
mucahit: combatant
martyr means a soldier who lost his life during the battle.

But isn't it the official line of RoC that we do not rule the north, but we are under occupation and everything we do is dictated by Turkey....;)

It is, but (much as we'd like not to ;)) we do acknowledge the de facto situation: we have no control over the north. So, in a case like your experiment, Turkey would be seen as controlling both the North and part of the South, because TCs 'obviously' would favour Turkish interests, not Greek Cypriot.

Easily identifiable for an experiment like that. Both the land records of TRNC and RoC is open and find out who has what before and after 1974. I mean this is waht Annan Plan was asking anyway right?

Right. there's no way out. Anyhow that's why some TCs(a small minority mostly the plunderers of ex- TC ruling elite) will never vote in favour of any reunification plan

It is easyily identifiable if TRNC and RoC decides to undertake such an experiment?

True. If they decide...

Dear Turkcyp,

You are suggesting that the Turkish Cypriot community (or part of it) returns back to the RoCy, obtain all the rights of 1960 constitution including vice president and veto power; while at the same time TRNC remaining in place, occupation remaining in place and GC refuges not returning back to their properties.

Presumably and legalistically speaking this might be possible. Is that however a fair arrangement for GCs? If this whatever portion of the TCs that will return back to the RoCy in the way you say, i.e. without denouncing TRNC and the occupation, continue living in the north, participating in the TRNC elections, continue paying TRNC taxes and continue cooperating with the occupational establishment; how on earth will GCs effectively promote their cause against the occupation and against recognition of a separate state and permanent division? In other words if those aspiring and promoting what the GCs consider an injustice and their (GCs) worst nightmare, become copartners in the RoCy, which is the only defensive line and platform of GCs in the international arena; then what chances do GCs have to materialize their cause, which is to end TRNC, occupation and the return of refuges?

However, if the entire TC community and its leadership denounce all the above, return to the non occupied area and refuse to cooperate any more with the Turkish occupation forces, then be assured that the GC community and the RoCy will have absolutely no problem giving them back all their 1960 constitutional rights. Because it will simply become a piece of cake for the RoCy to prove to the rest of the world that Turkey is in Cyprus for strategic (that’s actually the real reasons) reasons and not because there is a need to protect the Turkish Cypriots from the mouth of the evil GCs.

Easy Keifas, this would only be an experiment, not something permanent.
