The Basic Principle of "Political Equality"

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Piratis » Mon Mar 28, 2005 10:12 pm

I don't want you to get lost, but apparently you want us ;)

I don't think it has anything to do with being "grown up". Greek Cypriots have been historically living all over Cyprus for 3500 years. It is not that we bought some land there some years ago, and now you will give us a "refund" and thats it.

Would you accept it for example if for the sake of peace we were proposing to you to compensate you 100% to leave from Cyprus altogether? You said many times that land is not important.

So? Would TCs accept such proposal then? Wouldn't the removal from the lands of your ancestors bother you? Wouldn't it bother you to the degree that you would reject such proposal?

Kifeas surely putting forward ideas that may never happen, you cant be 100% sure that things will pan out that way. In counter arguement I could say a solution based on your ideals would ensure GC domination and ethnic cleaning of TCs off the island but I cant know this for sure.
Why do u have an alergy towards partition? is the land property control power or that you love us so much u want to build a future together.

Which ideas that I put forward may never happen???

And which ideas will ensure domination and ethnic cleansing of TCs off the island?

First read carefully and consolidate what I put down and then explain how what you said will possibly happen.

Kifeas
You know what will be the result of your partition? We will have to build a 6 meter wall around to keep the settlers and the illegal immigrants away, Mama Türka will dominate you even further and will continue to have the tanks and the guns that you so much like. The settlers very soon will triple and even more, and they will be sleeping this time outside your doors and inside your gardens and you will eventually disappear from Cyprus because you will not be able to tolerate it any more. And if you decide to move to the south, do not expect that the GCs will give you your constructional rights. They will tell you go and get Turkey and the half or 1 million settlers out of the north first and then come to talk.

You cannot be sure this will happen if recognition of Northern Cyprus occurs.

Read all the arguements put forward by the majority of GCs contributors, we will not return to RoC or become a minority in our own country.

I have to mention you are a minority in this forum just read some of the comments hurled at TCs by GCs

I did mention the above, that you are a minority and appear very positive but unfortunately there are not enough Kifeas's about to build a united cyprus, but there are plenty of MicAtCyp's about that just kill any prospects of reunification.

Thankyou :D

But I am not syaing this for GCs I would never want them to leave the island alltogether, its their home as well as ours, TCs say this all the time and we mean it.
We have proven we cant live together, but because as you say the land we own is in pieces we have to find a way of solving this, the only logical way is by divding it so that everyone can live in their part of the island and do whatever they want without fearing the other community.
The 18% - 82% split sounds ideal to me why have you changed your mind??? this way we could all live on the island as very good neighbours.

Viewpoint,

I've noticed from many of your posts that you portray a fear against the GC community. May I ask what instilled this in you? Education? MEdia? I know in southern cyprus whenever hatred or fear is brought up its against Turkey and rarely against the TC community.

simple method:

open the picture in Paintbrush (built in MS windows). click on Image on the toolbar then "stretch/skew" . decrease by an appropriate percentage and then save it and upload it again.
