Kafenes, the only good thing that has come out of Ireland is their beer, especially Guinness.I can't stand their bigoted attitudes towards Protestants & Jews though.

The Republic of Ireland are not racist. They just want the British to stop meddling in their country . . . where have I heard this pattern repeated?

Phoenix,Northern Ireland IS a British country,& it IS going to stay that way.The Republic of Ireland IS the most racist country in Europe,& that is a fact! I knew one guy who left Ireland in 1950,angered that Ireland was pulled out of the British Commonwealth.I don't think he ever went back while he was alive.Yes,he was a Protestant as well.

As for the idea that the Scots & Irish getting on with each other, that is a load of crap! I've met quite a few Scots who were very anti-Irish to the hilt.

So, Aidan, the Irish Economic Miracle we read so much about has nought to do with technology etc, and is all beer fueled? Then you must salute the Irish, they are more capable than we thought!
