If your friend is worried about Diabetes . . . you can get urine testing kits at pharmacists . . . but don't know if available readily in Cyprus.

If you have any knowledge in this field, you're a doctor or something or you just know things  I can tell you the symptoms.

No Icy . . . I am not a medic.

I'm just of an age that I've seen most things  and interfere if I'm worried someone may take too long to work things out.

Look up the symptoms of Diabetes on Google or something, they are fairly easy to detect. Use this only as a way of eliminating Diabetes. But if your friend suspects AIDS then they should see a doctor right away.

The symptoms match the Diabetes, that is: always tired, always sleepy, drinking a lot o water, going to the toilet very often.
I might say that it's diabetes, but I have no experience. I don't know about aids, he must know if he did smth or not in the past  ... so, that's why I wanted to get this guy to get a blood test so he can get well... and we can start to party again. :D

. . . so get a urine-glucose check done right away to eliminate the next most likely cause . . . a hangover

It's definitely not a hangover as this happens for the last 2 weeks and no excessive drinks meanwhile.

I suspect the subject is aware of his diabetes. Blood Glucose Meters are readily available in the North. They only cost about £7. I send a dozen a year to be distributed and the test strips are available from Pharmacists.

In the North you have a Path Lab on almost every street corner. Surely theres no shortage in the south, esp if the health services are allegedly better.

Deniz I've never needed to purchase one so as I said I am not sure whether they are available .... but if you have them in the "north" then I am sure they have them in the "south"

. . . and the whole point was that the subject was NOT aware of his diabetes state.

But thank you for taking the opportunity to remind us of the great "north - south" divide.

I hope our exchanges improve for the evening's delectation . . . I realise we may just be warming up :D
