I have to say ...im hacked off with CYTA ...they seemed happy to stay in the 19th centary ,slow internet ,useless support services ,useless buiness solutuons ...PRIMETEL DONT SEEM THAT GREAT NEITHER

.SINCE DOWNLOADING 500MB A DAY LATELY ...I have to reset my connection with cyta sometimes twice a day ...or as per this week they have constantly had DNS RESOLUTION ISSUES ...

im moving over to OTENET IN JAN ... FOR COMS SOLUTIONS ...AND I USE WWW.1AND1.COM FOR WEB/SERVER SOLUTIONS ...

I THINK CYTA REFLECTS THE SMALL ISLAND MENTALLY OF MOST CYPRIOTS AND I CAN SEE WHY MOST CYPRIOT BUSINESSES SWITH TO PRIMETEL AND OTENET ETC ...

I THINK CYTA SHOULD BE SOLD OFF TO OTENET ...THERE BUSINESS STANCE AND ATTITUDE REFLECT THAT OF BT IN THE UK AROUND 1995 ....

Cheers sotos, looks like im not going to get a much better ping, but I should get better than the 800kb/s I'm getting on netrunner. I'm on Netrunner Plus too, which I expected to show a good speed.

@oranos64 - I uses opendns, as cytanet's dns is crap. I get no page failures at all with it.

CYTA's days are thankfully numbered – my friend Ms Viviane Reding, the EU commissioner, clearly has them in her formidable sights and her record at hitting targets is very good indeed.

CYTA and the rest of the corrupt government spin-offs around the island have signed their own death warrant by joining Europe.

A very good friend of mine coined a phrase that I tend to use ad nauseum, because it is so insightful:

Cypriots are just beginning to wake up to the fact that it was they that joined Europe – and not the other way round.

The banks will be the first to feel the pressure – you mark my words – next year, with the advent of the Euro, we will see other European banks coming in and shaking things up big time.

Cheers

Otenet is the ISP of OTE in Greece, is this the same company? If yes then there's hope for Cyprus, In Greece Otenet now offers 24Mbps for €29/month[/GVideo]
