D-Day for Turkey and maybe the cyprus problem in one month.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

D-Day for Turkey and maybe the cyprus problem in one month.

According from a greek american paper here in the states the EHRC wilL hand down a descion in the next month or so concerning the case of Miras Xenidi-Aresti.The case is extremly similar to last years descion concerning titiana Loizidou that turkey lost and had to pay close to 1 million euros. The greek american paper states getting its information from the turkish daily Cumhuriyet that if the descion is against turkey she will face another 1,300  cases that amount to 25 billion dollars  ,the turkish daily goes on to say that turkey will have to make a descion after this, will it respect the ruling and allow the greek cypriots to use there property or they will abandond the EU.THE Turkish daily also pointed out that international airline carriers are afraid to have direct flights to the north in fear of law suites by the ROC.it also states that the US and GB were are looking legal ways in bypassing the embargoes and direct flight issue are stuck because of fear of lawsuites.

this may actaully be more important date than when turkey sighs the protocol.

There is always an exception where the Glorious republic of Turkey is concerned.

I seem to understand that there is nothing stopping TC's coming coming back to their land in RoC. In fact wasn't there a case around Oct-Dec last year when exactly that happenened, and a GC refugee was ordered out of his home ? Never heard of the story after that though so have no idea what actually happened ?

Also is there not a "commission" that deals with TC property in the South and keeps it under government control ?

After TC had struggled for his rights in the democratic, lawful and EU aquis abiding south, the issue was brushed under the carpet and the TC we believe not 100% sure of this was offered alternative accommadation until Cyprus issue is resolved, so he didnt get his property back suprise suprise. Another great confidence building measure. :eyecrazy:
