So fishing sucks in Cyprus then...Is there any trout fishing in Cyprus?

As there are no rivers and sweet water lakes in Cyprus, the only trout fishing is done in the dams and even that is no good.

Deep see fishing from a boat wouldn't be too bad at certain time of the year. But not to forget to take with you some lountza and of course a bottle of ouzo. (just to keep the thread on line). :)

Nikitas wrote:Re cooking with ouzo, I already gace a recipe with rabbit on another thread started by Cheshire Cat. Rabbit provencale flambeed with ouzo or Pernod, and simmered in white wine with crushed tomatoes and olives.

Try this too: devein and clean medium sized shrimp (fresh or frozen but thawed and at room temp.), In a little extra virgn olive oil, over medium heat, saute a little garlic and some parsley, put in the shrimp and turn a couple of times, then pour in a shot of ouzo and light it up. Serve the flaming things hot.

We get ouzo koulourakia from our local bakery here in Athens, but not being at all capable with pastry cooking I wont venture a guess as to how they do them. They are tasty though!

:) Thanks for that Nikita mou. I will definitely try some of your tips. Could you ask your bakery how they make the koulourakia, they sound delicious!?!?!?!?!?

Kafene mou, Halloumi fed to fish, sacrilegious to say the least!! Do not waste it on the fish, feed me!!!

EasyE, were you up to performing after all that Ouzo?

That's ok, I am used to the alcohol, I'm drinking it as a refreshment drink.

The above comment puts me in mind of the time I came across an Irish friend of mine sitting in the corner of a bar in Dublin looking rather sorry for himself, obviously under the influence of a few pints.

I approached him with yet another pint of Guinness and asked him what was troubling him, he complained that he had fallen out with his wife and said :-

"That woman has driven me to drink !"

He then eyed the pint I had just set before him, raised the glass to his lips and looking skyward, added :-

"Thanks be to Jayzus !"
