INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL IN CYPRUS

Postby Phileas » Wed Dec 12, 2007 10:16 am

Let's face it : there is no proper international school here in Cyprus ! Education has become a business, not a focus on educating kids. You can name them all in Lemessos...they are charging a lot of money for what ? The worst is probably Heritage School despite new buildings...I am told by friends that teachers are not all properly qualified and some teachers already left the school or plan to do so within this scholarship ! Is it true ? Has someone some information about it ? I need to know where to register my kids next year. Thanks !

What is "international school"? If you mean English school then the best one in Limassol is Grammar School. I don't know if it is for-profit or not for profit but such schools are for sure private. If you want a school that it is not a business then you could always send your children to a public school ;)

My 2 are at The Heritage and very happy there. The teachers seem young but they do care about the kids and the atmosphere is great!

They went to a private school in the UK before that had the best results in our county, they were very unhappy there and it cost 4 times what the fees cost here.

I wouldn't just listen to rumours, I heard bad things about the Grammar School! I checked things out for myself by visiting a few and chose The Heritage. People who have kids at different schools are bound to 'big up' their own choice and put down others, it's human nature.

It's your choice and what may suit your child best but I suggest you visit some first. Hope this helps.
