How gangsta are the jails in cyprus? How close is it to the states? Can you drop the soap?

Load of bollocks..... Nothing more than our Cypriot tough-guy-wannabes wishing our prisons were tough places to suit the fantasy image of the macho Cypriot. Cypriot prisons are nurseries. Nothing ever happens, no violence, no rape, no nothing. There isn't a high enough concentration of lunatic murderers or psychotic crackheads to warrant such U.S. style antics.

I've been told Nicosia prison is a pretty nasty place... is this bollocks as well?

I have a Syrian friend there, been serving two years now and it's only a "pretty nasty place" if you were expecting 5 star hotel with bed and breakfast. Its as ordinary and pleasant as any other average prison around the Europe.

I know there are many little jail cells dotted around the country, even in villages. But I think your correct. The links below says there is only one prison.

I read the review, it sounds like a nice place. It says they will train me to do carpenting and everything.
