Cymart, you are one of the biggest racist that ever came to this forum my friend. I could have replied with a ton of nasty descriptions about the British as well, but I will not drop to your level.

The only thing I will tell you is that in Cyprus, the British have enslaved and exploited us for decades, they still maintain their troops on our island, and they are the best friends of Turkey which is occupying 1/3rd of our country with their help. On the other hand the Russians have never caused any harm to us, and on the contrary they have helped on many occasions.

So if you don't like Cyprus why don't you just piss off instead of trying to tell us what to do with our own country?

The money that was spent for the "NO" campaign was huge. Millions were poured in by businessmen alone who thought that they would lose out in the case of a solution.

The difference is that the "NO" campaign was funded by Greek Cypriots, the great majority* of which would lose out in case that the Annan partition plan was implemented, while the "yes" campaign was funded by the AngloAmericans and the Turks, who had a lot to gain if the AP passed.

*The only Greek Cypriots that maybe would gain something from AP would be those that had property in that 7% that was supposed to be returned, if they would sell it and move out of Cyprus quickly before everything collapsed.

I will not vote for Kasoulides either. He comes from the party that PROVED beyond any doubt-ever since the coup upto the Anan plan-they are working for double Enosis. So I have only one option "left" although I am a rightist.

Don't do it Pyro... if you think the EU doesn't like Tpap you just wait and see what happens when the whole world sees us voting for an ardent communist!

Come on GR....!!! The EU liking or disliking is not one of my criteria. Simply Papadopoulos proved himself to be no more capable than the average idiot in the street. And he chickened out in the most critical moments when he should have vetoed Turkey.

If I had realised how corrupt Cyprus would become,I would never have come back here to live! The reason I moved to Paphos in 1990 from Limassol was because the firm me and my wife worked for then opened up here and we thought it would be a better environment for our son to grow up in...Of course we still believed we would be going back to Famagusta very soon anyway! This town has more contrasts of rich and poor people than any other in Cyprus, more cabarets per head of population, more crime and more arrogant and offensive people with the 'nouveau riche' archontochoriatiki' syndrome! No wonder there are more supporters of Papad. and a no solution here than anywhere else! But even they realise the tide is turning and you hear more and more people saying they think the 'reds' or maybe even the 'blues' will win......
