Our lives have been under threat from Turks for centuries.

Surely you didn't buy Zan's... "WWWIII began in 1963 and I witnessed it as a 3 year old" ...story did you? Zanny heard a couple of shotguns go off during the Partridge season and he thought the world came to an end!

Zan are you for real ? We don't expect the bastards you just mentioned above to believe anything we say. After all it is them that put you there in the first place M8. ha ha you are so funny, if thats the best you got, then you got nothing.

You are just a typical partitionist, you are a hypocrite, you want the GC to accept their wrong doings (and they have done them) , but at the same time you are all sweet and innocent lovey dovey goody goodies. Wake up man, if anyone is the fool it is you.

Never mind the past, just look at the present facts, you are still holding cyprus at gun point yes? you have violated every UN resolution passed against you yes ? You have ignored all EU rulings against you yes? you have violated international law on a gigantic scale yes? the answer is yes yes and fucking yes. Yet none of those assholes you just mentioned above has butted an eyelid right. So, don't go quoting turkeys buddies to me and attempt to justify you illegalities against cyprus and it people GC and TC alike.

Its a good job Tpap is still there to keep people like you out, otherwise we would all be for the chop.

Roll on Tpap may you win every term you stand for.

No Change tthere then....When someone agrees with you, no matter what their credentials  they are your friend and when they see through your shit then they are your worst enemy.....That is exactly what they have found out through your treatment of us...Lucky old us hey!!!!

I have asked as many idiots about this statement of looking to the future and none have had the guts to answer.....If you want to forget the past then lets look to the future shall we...The present is that we have two states on the island...That is the future....How about it...Or is the future from 1974 that you are talking about like every other twisted mind in your brain washed state?????

The rules and regulation against humanity and my people are still there in full living colour in the shape of people like me so if you want to forget you had better move to another planet cause here we are and here we shall stay. When you stop playing stupid tricks and want to talk as equals then you know where we are

Spot on mikkie. Very well said. We did the same foolish thing back in the 60's and 70's when we thought the non aligned movement was to be our saviour. We banked on Nasser of Egypt and Tito of Yugoslavia then, now its Putin of Russia. Again, we are flirting with disaster.

'Bananiot' and 'Piratis'-thanks for your support- and criticism!Even though I may not agree with what people like'Professor' say,I will defend to my death their right to say it on principle!
Coming back to what started my latest thread, the article with Vassiliou in last Sundays Politis,I have always found him to be the most moderate, sensible and inoffensive person and only wish there more people like him here in Cyprus!I also believe that if he had been re-elected in 1993,I would probably be writing this from Famagusta by now and the Cyprus problem would have long been history!
I also fully agree with the person who wrote that most politicians here are components that contribute to its continuation and it will be a miracle if any of them can solve it!That's why Vassiliou was by far the best bet because he is not one of them and I fully sympathise with all he said in the interview.
Let's be frank, our choices in February are between an old-hardliner who the Turkish Cypriots can never trust with the past he has,a crafty communist who wants his moment of glory that he thought was due to him anyway and a very honest and decent doctor who has no mud on him so far,but is being manipulated by others who want power again! The outsider with virtually no support and who is running on principle,is probably the only one who can see the truth as it really is and is not afraid to say so,so of course he has no chance! Why don't we all vote for 'Madsakis' instead,as I wrote under another thread-at least he knows how to win the Turks over by loving them!

Do we want to be in the E.U?

Postby cymart » Tue Dec 11, 2007 11:51 pm

Or do we prefer to side with the Russian mafia/K.G.B. and naively believe we can rely on them to kick Turkey out of Cyprus?I lived in and experienced Putins wonderland for six months in 2005/6 and would like to ask how many Greek Cypriots know anything about the reality of life in that country, or what the most popular foreign beer is among people in Moscow? It's Efes my friends, brewed in Russia under franchise from the factory in Turkey!Ask Russians who can afford to travel abroad which resort they are most likely have visited in the East Mediterranean and they will say Antalya,Kemer, etc. where over 1 million of them go every summer!Maybe one tenth of that number visit southern Cyprus, out of whom probably 50% are not package tourists but stay in private accomodation etc.
I wonder if any Greek-Cypriot officials raised the question of the recent elections in Russia with Ivanov, which have been widely criticised by the E.U. and other western countries for being rigged and biased in favour of Putins party,as well as other violations of press freedom and human rights for which Russia is notorious?Or did he come to advise Papadopoulos how to rig next Februarys elections here to make sure he stays in power?
Democracy, freedom of speech and fairness mean nothing to people like Putin and Ivanov who were trained by one of the most ruthless secret services on this planet and who are capable of anything when their power is at stake.....
I quite agree with the person who posted that if we follow Russia instead of the west,we are heading for disaster....

Well, we are hell bent on principles when it comes to the Cyprob and recently Mr Lillikas boasted that Cyprus alone will save the day for the unethical EU if it had to. Of course nobody in Cyprus bothered to report on the election rigging Putin was accused of by impartial observers. In the same manner, dictators of the kind of Milosevic enjoyed enormous respect by the majority of the Greek Cypriots who were not informed of the atrocities he committed by our "impartial" press. The public opinion is not only kept in the dark but worse, it is misinformed. This is the way to manipulate it and create the sick xenophobia we are exposed to daily that elevates our President to a titan that singlehandedly is fighting the evils of this world.
