That's nonsense.

More double talk from no one agent......

Makarios said:
I do not know as yet all the details of the Cyprus crisis caused by the Greek military regime.I am afraid that the number of casualties is large and that the material destruction is heavy. What is, however, our primary concern at present is the ending of the tragedy.

Challenge me on it GR....Go ON!!!!!!! 8)

The dead from the coup were only around 50-60 if I remember well so quoting Makarios as saying "thousands" is as thick as it gets... I don't doubt him saying that damage was "large"... it is a relative word.

From the horses mouth and you still try to squirm out of it....hahaha

Now let me see........20,000 Greeks arrive from Greece and start a coup with Makarios supporters being killed left right and centre....Then Makarios asks his men to put down their weapons and more killings happened and it only amounted to 50 or 60..........Nice resistance that you boasted about earlier in your carrier...You seem to want it always Gr and it ain't gonna happen...The fighting was intense and thoussands were murdered by the Greeks and you guys blame it on Turks......So whats new???

There has been a coup d'état every ten years in Turkey.
And some 150 000 Turkish settlers plus 40 000 Turkish troops infected the island.

It was a completely fucked up time and the Turkish presence didnt ease things at all

Paaul12 desist with this Turkish habit of euphemizing and downgrading your atrocities.

Wiktionary wrote:invasion

A military action consisting of armed forces of one geopolitical entity entering territory controlled by another such entity, generally with the objective of conquering territory or altering the established government.

Belenos has correctly used the word in this context.

Intervention was necessary to stop you dick heads from giving Cyprus to Greece, you should thank the Turkish army for gifting you the "RoC".

So the GC's should bow and kneel to you and thank you for preserving their National integrity? And where does the TRNC fit in all this? what exactly did the intervention preserve, Cyprus as a whole or Turkey's interests on the island?

The Turkish Cypriots interests as co-owners of this island.

Uh-huh.

In germany today, there are some 2000 000 turks living off welfare and causing trouble, the germans would like nothing more but to kick them out. I honestly wonder if the same thing will happen soon.

Turks, even from 500 years ago, are GUESTS on the island and not co-owners. Keep that in mind...

. . . Uninvited!

Next you will be saying that the Turks are guests in Konstantiniyye/Constantinopolis (Istanbul) Whatever next?

Why are there some people on the forum who deny the coup against Makarios in 1974?
Why this denial of the fact that Eoka B with the Greek army fought against the GCs for the soul aim of Enosis?
Why deny the killings of Greek Cypriots by the coupists?
It is beyond me.

Why would turkey even care about you if it didnt have any economic interests in the Island. In fact I will go further than that, Turks being mongol descendants, have not gotten that urge for ever more land out of their system, and so any act of imperialism is perfectly justifiable by turkish standards.

You, being there for 5 or 500 years, are still nothing but a guest on the island. You obviously have a right to be represented, but there is no such place as TRNC, it is common logic. Say I were to go into your house, do what I wanted, and then when the time came tell you get out, it's mine.

Of course sad things happened and greeks killed greeks, it is true and very sad. But none of this would ahve happened were it not for turkish presence on the island.

Now havnt your people caused enough trouble? stolen enough land? Turkey is on the blood and bones of Armenian, assyrian and greek lands, dont you ahve enough room to live on?

Or pack up and leave, or be an honorable guest and SHUT THE FUCK UP!

The original settlers of Cyprus were hellenic and so was the entire Aegean sea. Turks only came into existence some 600 years ago so please, learn a thing or two about history.

And if it werent for big brother turkey, every power on earth would stop TC's "right" on Cyprus.
