Georgia strikes ships off register for breaking Famagusta embargo

07/12/2007

Georgia has expunged from its ship register the ships that were sailing the illegal route from the closed port of Famagusta in the Turkish occupied areas of Cyprus to the port of Latakia in Syria.

According to an official press release, ''after coordinated moves by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, GeorgIA expunged from its ship register the ships AKGUNLER 1 and SU, which were performing the illegal route from the closed port of Famagusta to the port of Latakia in Syria.''

''With a note verbale yesterday, the Embassy of Georgia informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the Shipping Department of Georgia informed the ship-owning companies that the two ships are expunged from the ship resister of the country due to the violation of international agreements and conventions,'' it concludes.

Does this mean their moment-in-the-sun for "recognition" and no "isolation" is gone?

Instead the World has once again recognised them for the illegalities they perpetrate.

Naughty Turk-TCs . . . you are becoming more and more Turk and less and less TC.

Phoenix, I should let you know something: There is a prevailing stereotype in Canada and the United States about Greek women. It's not a pleasent one, yet your comments on this forum are doing more to reinforce, then dispel it.

Listen utu, if you have a problem with what I say . . . criticise my statements.

If you have a problem with my being a woman, and having the right to speak freely, than you are a male chauvinist pig.

If you have a problem with my being "Greek" and fitting some national stereotype then you are a racist and you need to address that.

If you are trying to prove to the world that Canadians are jerks then we thank you for the demonstration, but no thanks!. . . .

Unlike what you have just shown us, I don't sit in judgement of my fellow forumers. I respect their right to say whatever they want in as capable a manner as they see fit. I do not try to silence with bullying tactics . . .

I hope I have tackled each of your statements fully. I would appreciate the same, if you are capable.

BTW there is a whole article Boom has posted that you would be wise to peruse and don't just zoom in on me.

We know French ain't your first language, and I get the distinct feeling the English language ain't as well.

As for your question who are the chosen ones?...what a stupid question... you and not the Canadians

utu let them spew out their venom, it makes entertaining reading of how GC view us and their capabilities if we were ever to be stupid enough to reunite.
