TPap fools the GCs and the TCs big time.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

EXCELLENT POST RAFAELLA! IT helps to remember exactly who we are dealing with sometimes!

Thank you Nikitas.
I've got more quotes regarding the Anan Plan and I will be posting them from time to time.
These quotes are the best answers to those that accuse the Gcs for rejecting the "unification" plan.
The thing is that we are accused of rejecting the Anan Plan but those who accuse us never bother to know why we rejected that rediculous plan.

I dedicate the following quote, from a Tc, to you my dear Zan:
"We are exceedingly pleased with the press reaction to the UN Secretary General's latest draft plan for a solution. My joy stems as much from Annan's pro-Turkish stance as it does from the nature of the Greek Cypriot outcry. We never saw such a Greek Cypriot uproar during any of the previous negotiations. My view is that it is because, for the first time, we have a draft solution supporting Turkish interests to such an extent."

Halil, you started the war to take 1/3rd of our country. This war will end with you giving back what you stole, not with us signing it away to you. Get it? What you want is not "peace" what you want is our capitulation to what you enforced illegally on our country. It will never happen.

The above quote is no different from when the GCs say they will not accept anything that will benefit the TCs. (because it will almost / invariably harm the GC cause) and vice versa.
This is one-up-manship. If its good for them then it canot be good for us! This will be the attitude which will eventually divide the island.

Opinion is one thing, but lies are another. Even Makarios said that 1974 was an invasion by the Greek government, and I never heard anyone call Makarios pro-Turkish

Re Halil, don't waste your time mana mou.

"The latest version of the Annan plan is a success for Turkish foreign policy and the Turkish government. With the latest form of the plan, the Turkish Cypriots gain many rights which they were unable to get even with the London and Zurich agreements [in 1959-60]. The Turkish side has also had some objections to this [latest version], but the Greek Cypriots are objecting to nearly all of it. The Annan plan in this form should be signed immediately."

No Sotos , I did not say that. What I was emphasising was that 'if any thing will benefit the TCs, the GCs will turn against automatically and vice versa. The plan might have been something we could all base further talks on. It would have been flexible.

Ercakica in his statement mentioned the benefits or so for the TCs. Thats why Tpapa did a turn around.
TC politicians will do the same. As I said before I hate politicians and Politiking. Its a deceiving game. It only prolongs their tenure with high salaries in their offices.

I think we need a new brand of politician. And I stop here.

I have been troubled as to who to vote for in the elections, not one for politics since i came to Cyprus, but i am deffinately goig to vote for TPap, simply becuase i fear that the other 2 leading candidates agree to the Anan plan.

There can never be a solution to this problem that will keep everyone happy. The only way forward i feel is no solution at all, and for us to all stay as we are, and if there is anyone that isnt happy with that then so be it, there is nothing that can be done.

Not one to ever sound defeitist,so sorry if i am sounding like it. Its not necessarily a bad thing staying as we are is it? why does everyone go on about it all the time? would it be better for us to all be living together and fighting? surely anyone with half a brain can see what many problems would happen if the island was united as one again?
