How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

The fact that the TMT was formed to counteract this aggressive take over of Cyprus is just nonsense.

How did Cypriots dare to want to "take over" their own island from their foreign rulers? They deserve to die for this, right zan?

Just like the Ottoman Turks where killing us when we revolted against them and wanted our freedom.

During the Greek War of Independence in 1821, the Ottoman authorities feared that Greek Cypriots would rebel again. Archbishop Kyprianos, a powerful leader who worked to improve the education of Greek Cypriot children, was accused of plotting against the government. Kyprianos, his bishops, and hundreds of priests and important laymen were arrested and summarily hanged or decapitated on July 9, 1821.

They wanted to take over the whole island and gift it to Greece, hopefully without the TCs, why arent we allowed to fight for our right to stay alive?

What we wanted was our freedom from foreign occupation like it happened to all other Greek islands and territories. Maybe when all the other Greek islands and territories where fighting for their liberation were also committing a "crime"?

As I have shown with evidence there was no attempt from GCs to harm TCs. On the contrary it is the TCs who started the conflict against Cypriots and collaborated with the colonialists in order to stop Cypriots from attaining their freedom. So don't tell me you fought for your right to stay alive. You fought for gaining on our loss, just like you have always done in the past since you first invaded our island with the aim to enslave and exploit us.

Just when I begin to see a different aspect of you, you go off therails again.

When the Ottomans arrived you (the Greek Orthodox) were serfs. The church supressed with preference given to the Latin church. With the coming of the Ottomans you were given your own leaders for christ sake. All the Latin churches were given over to the Orthodox church (bar one or two). Your sweeping statements are irritating to some, except myself. I NEVER LOOSE MY TEMPER, do you hear me.

I understand your need to exagerate but come on Piratis. You were the preferred people of Cyprus.

Are you for real? You came in killing 10s of thousands of people and then oppressed us for centuries and you expect to be thanked for it?

How about if we exchanged positions so you become the "preferred people of Cyprus" with the "rights" you allowed us to have then? Would you like that?

It was an improvement on your sorry state. But your bigotry forbidsyou to admit to this.

Maybe the Turk-TCs will never understand how the GCs feel about Cyprus because they have never really had a land to call their own . . . which has not been gained at someone else's expense.

Perhaps they have habitually learned to distort the truth and forget their atrocities unto others as an adaptation mechanism towards enjoying the constant never-ending spoils of their invasions. So they come to believe their own propaganda. We are lost. :(

All I know is they will never be satisfied with any gains, and the GCs have to continue to appeal to the EU and UN to help restore the whole Island to the rightful owners and put an end to this cycle of infamy.

Thats what they teach you at your schools? How being dead could be an improvement over anything?

And if we liked your rule so much then why we revolt so many times?

Came on Deniz, get over the brainwashing you received. Turks came to Cyprus for the sole reason of exploiting Cypriots and Cyprus.

Under the Venetiasn we were serfs and we were then liberated by the OTtomans? Is this a serious assertion here?

The Church was recognised as the head of the local population because it also became part of the machinery for collecting taxes.

What exactly is the meaning of the word Rayia? They always taught me that it means serf, which is what all subjects of the Ottomans were. No need to go into the ridiculous details of dress, legal status etc.

All conquerors of the time treated their subjects as serfs, there was no such thing as enlightened rulers back then.
