The UK wants Turkey in the EU for three reasons:-

Because that is what the US wants.

Because it wants to show the world that the West does not hate all muslims.

And they could be useful one day especially with the Russian bear starting to growl again.

Agree with your first reason Jerry because that tallies with the desire to destroy the E.U. seen as the U.S.'s main rival.

I don't think pandering to the Muslim world is a consideration by either U.S. or U.K.

Europe would have a better relationship with Russia without the outside influence of the U.S.

Turkey really is superfluous to requirements. It's not wanted nor needed by any major players.

Pandering to the Muslim world is an attempt to counter the efforts of Al Quaeda and others. I'm not sure about your comment regarding European/Russian relationships - I think most European countries would shit themselves if NATO were to collapse, there has even been recent talk of France getting back fully into NATO. Unfortunately Turkey will never be superfluous all the while there is a Russian threat, as Deniz mentioned NATO needs "cannon fodder"

Is this how diplomats behave or is it just neophyte Cypriot diplomats. Is she offering the best services to her countries or is she just interested in winning some points for her boss?

Erato Kozakou was talking about Sweden which looks as though is doing a UK on Cyprus.

Just saying the truth. Nothing more, nothing less.

 The UK is the one who gave you the idea of partition in the first place.

The UK didn't want to loose her strategic position in Cyprus, so they, along with Turkey, used and continue to use the TC minority as means to deny to the Cypriot people their freedom and self determination so they can continue to maintain their troops on our island.

What would be the point of having an Embassy that no one knew existed . . . it defeats the prime objective :?
