The UK has dropped its mask

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I can't find one good reason why the U.K. would want Turkey to join the E.U. other than as a co-conspirator to disrupt the system from within.

The UK wants Turkey in the EU for three reasons:-

Because that is what the US wants.

Because it wants to show the world that the West does not hate all muslims.

And they could be useful one day especially with the Russian bear starting to growl again.

Whatever the English decide, rest assured - it will be good for THEM and secondary considerations for the CYPRIOT peoples, whether Greek speaking or Turkish.

The UK values her relationship with the US far more than with the EU and the ultimate behind-the-scenes plan is for the EU to collapse or always be in disarray so that the UK/US will always have the upper hand, and that explains why the UK is the EU's constant bad apple forever reluctant to adopt EU change. The US/UK predict that Turkey as an EU member will bring the end of Europe and they're not wrong... but will Europe fall for it? Europe (minus the UK) also has her plans for the US/UK alliance…

I agree with the first reason

Disagree with the second. The west hates all muslims.

The third, They hate them so much, so why not use them as 'gun - fodder'.

Agree with your first reason Jerry because that tallies with the desire to destroy the E.U. seen as the U.S.'s main rival.

I don't think pandering to the Muslim world is a consideration by either U.S. or U.K.

Europe would have a better relationship with Russia without the outside influence of the U.S.

Turkey really is superfluous to requirements. It's not wanted nor needed by any major players.

GR a few weeks ago a straw poll in "Question Time" on BBC the audience were asked about the UK leaving the EU. If my memory serves me correctly the overwhelming majority were in favour of staying in. The simple fact is that our economy is too dependent on Europe for a divorce to take place - at least for the forseeable future.

I actually should've said..."Successive UK governments value/d their relationship with the US far more than with the EU"...because most politicians are far more interested in global dominance than peace. But anyway, there's nothing stopping the UK from trading with the rest of Europe even after a divorce.

While the British and the Americans are busy planning the demise of the EU, Europe is developing along lines that seem to make the UK less relevant every day. It is lots of little things that individually might not seem relevant but together they form a reality which excludes the UK. The Euro, the european rail network, the rapid response force to fight natural disasters, and a host of other things which leave out the UK are small steps towards European harmonisation that bring true European nations closer. This is the way Europe is countering the Trojan horse policy of the UK.

Turkey thinks it can join the EU by bargaining. The EU does not bargain with acceding countries, it has a take it or leave it method on accession. You cannot join a club by asking to change its membership rules. for the obvioous reason that once you start for one then all will want changes. The procedure is still at the start, the hard parts have not come yet.

Deniz, they may hate all muslims (bit of a contradiction here since the TCs are muslims) but they do'nt want the world to know that. And yes you are probably right about using them as "cannon fodder"
