The last time I ever got in a car with my Scottish Father-in-Law was when we were driving through the Highlands and he set about deliberately trying to run over rabbits.

He saw himself as a custodian of the countryside and viewed them as pests. To me they are just as much pets as cats.

So it's a matter of mentality . . . . if they view them as pests, they will eradicate them.

I hope the next generation of Humans throughout the World, respect the rights of animals.

Phoenix mou, you should invite your father-in-law over to Cyprus after you have settled in. He will be among good / familiar company.

But are you sure he did not do it for the pot?

No he did not! . . . . he only eats cows!

He thinks Cyprus is too hot! :D

So were you diplomatic or told him what you thought? I'd find it difficult to keep it in!

I was diplomatic ( 8) ) but it was not at the expense of honesty!

Niki, would you believe he tried to defend himself by saying that he had the best interest of the turnip farmers in mind  . He's an engineer for goodness sake . . . and when it suits him he moans about the distraction of the countryside by farming practises.

Anyway, I never went in his car again and thankfully he no longer drives. :D

Brings you closer to the 'in-laws' though!

Hopefully you shamed him a little although he wouldn't admit it.

Ray, if you've seen one or two people run over a cat, then I have seen ten thousand who haven't. Please do not generalise. If a few Ukrainian girls work as prostitutes in the cabarets doesn't mean all Ukrainian women are prostitutes.
Yes, I am very proud of my nation. Are you proud of your nation? which ever it might be?

Excuse me . . . but I think I made the same point, about these things happening everywhere, by using a personal example.

Was I too diplomatic this time?
