Hi and welcome to the forums. There is currently no DSL based (ADSL) broadband in north Cyprus. Neither is their any cable based BB services (or cable based TC services for that matter). There are constant rumours that ADSL will be introduce but I have been hearing these from when I arrived here 2.5 years ago and still nothing released yet. Talart also talked about bringing DSL based services to cyprus in the parilamentary elections I believe (not the presidential ones that I know off). I do not know of any definate plans or timescales however.

There is two way sat services as an alternative (which is what I personaly use) but this is very expensive (comparative to typical BB prices) and has some very real limits on some applications due to it's high latency (its a long way to a geo stationary orbit and back down to earth and even at the 'speed of light' this takes time to travel).

I have no real information - just rumors from various places.

Again I know very little in reality. I am not a Turkish speaker (despite being a TRNC citizen and living in Cyprus). In the run up to the parilamentary elections the english langauge paper here (Cyprus Today) ran a short profile of the various party leaders and what their elections manifestos were. Talat's had some stuff about development of infrastructure in the north - power and water etc and in this was amention of bringing DSL to the North. I do not know if anything is actually being done about this election pledge or not.

My best guess is that when DSL based services do eventualy arrive here in the north they will be comparatively (to rest of EU) expensive, limited in the areas available and probably have limits in terms of usage as well - but this is all just 'guessing'.
